Clay Drayton is a Musician, Songwriter, Producer and Arranger.Clay has been involved in the entertainment industry for over forty years. In the late sixties, he toured in and out of the United States as Music Director for Dee Dee Warwick (sister of Dionne Warwick). He has performed in major venues that include Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theatre and the Stardust Lounge in Las Vegas. He was a songwriter on staff at Motown Records / Jobete Publishing for seven years.
While at Motown he wrote, arranged, produced and played on songs for Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, TaTa Vega, G. C. Cameron, High Inergy and others. After Motown, he signed with 20th Century Fox Music. He earned five gold records to his credits on albums from Diana Ross, The Jackson 5, High Inergy and Lenny Williams. He has been president of his own music publishing companies, Claytam Publishing and Troytiaco Publishing.
Clay's written Gospel songs for artists from the late Rev. James Cleveland to the NBCC Choir of Portland OR, Billy Davis Jr. and Soldiers for the Second Coming.
He has produced Opening Stage Productions for several World Conferences, which includes special guests such as M.C. Hammer and Martha Reeves (of Martha and the Vandellas fame) and Andrae Crouch.
