- THE CRASH MODERNS -
“...the absolute essence of flirtatious, effervescent, sublime pop music. With their fresh pop hooks and the synth high in the mix they have created an energetic, effortless and playful sound.†– Blogcritics.com
The Crash Moderns officially formed on Halloween 2004. Fourteen months, almost to the day, they found themselves playing to a sold out crowd of 20,000 as the opening act for Bon Jovi at The Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey.
After barely six months together as a group the New York City based pop/rock quintet, The Crash Moderns, left home on a quest to bring a new brand of music to fans all over the country. After touring the US and Canada supporting acts such as Bowling for Soup, and American Hi-Fi, The Crash Moderns landed several sold-out dates with Geffen recording artists Lifehouse, which included a night at the legendary House of Blues in Chicago. They've also had the opportunity to share the stage with bands such as the Pink Spiders, LIVE!, and The Ataris.
With a sound that is often compared to the classic styles of timeless pop bands like The Cars, Elvis Costello and Cheap Trick, The Crash Moderns have music fans everywhere buzzing about their infectious melodies and undeniable hooks that will stick in your head for days.
The Crash Moderns were recently featured as band of the week on Fearless Music TV (Fox) and in Time Out NY. With a great year already in progress, The Crash Moderns will be touring and recording for the remainder of 2007. Their self-titled EP is a must-have and their live show should not be missed. They are available to package as support or co-headline. For inquiries please contact [email protected]
"Well-rounded, hook-driven and highly layered vocals rule the day and pounding pop melodies explode around every corner. It's the type of commercial power pop that the masses who picked up Rooney and Maroon 5 would welcome...Built on beefy rhythms and unforgettable riffs, The Crash Moderns soar effortlessly to a place where joy, goose bumps, and repeated listens are unavoidable. The rush of guitars and classic vocal pop stylings make this an exhilarating, refreshing and spectacular debut. Don't miss out on the future of power pop." - Not Lame
"Music bright as the sun, entertaining as the circus, warm and gentle as a newborn's hand, uplifting as the paycheck at the end of the month and like balm for your soul - here's The Crash Moderns!" - Melodic.net
"The undeniable hookiness and stunning vocal harmonies will grab you the second you hear the first throbs of 'This Time' from this NYC five-some. Lighting a modern fire under a power pop classic feel nodding to Cheap Trick and The Cars, these guys write strong, ear-friendly songs that have enough rough edges to let you know they put their soul into it. 'All About You' and its grungy guitar licks exemplify this, and leaves you hungry for a full album" - Music Morsels (EP Review)

"Dmitry Iyudin's guitars and Dan Lichty's vocals helped raise my spirits as much as my coffee and the sunshine. There's a universality in Lichty's lyrics, passionate, inspired, and delivered with sincere, smooth precision that help make these songs instant contemporary anthems." - David De Young, HowWasTheShow.com

- THE UPWELLING -
“I like a band called the Upwelling … They’re pretty amazing.†– Tyson Ritter of the All-American Rejects on TMZ.com
“The band mixes the stoned-out moods of Dark Side of the Moon with the more grandiose orchestral maneuvers of latter-day space rockers Spiritualized and Secret Machines, and Ari’s powerful falsetto would put Chris Martin to shame…†- Spin.com
With influences like Pink Floyd and the Police, New York City’s the Upwelling have gathered notice. While still unsigned, the band was designated as the 1st unsigned act and 1st EP on Virgin-Megastore’s Virgin Recommends series, Spin.com Underground Band-of-the-Year, and named Karma Productions’ band to tour Ireland. The band was invited to tour the U.K. with the All-American Rejects and then to tour the U.S. as the sole support on Third Eye Blind’s 10-year anniversary tour. The Upwelling, including Conor Heffernan (Keyboards/Bass Pedals), Lee Moretti (Guitar/Harmony), and brothers Ari (Vocals/Guitar) and Josh Ingber (Drums/Harmony), will be touring and recording through the Fall and are available to package as support or co-headline. For inquiries please contact: [email protected]
“A band called the Upwelling, I love them. They are the inheritors of Pink Floyd. I think they are so amazing.†- Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind on 97.3 FM San Francisco 2/7/07
"It is a work that demands attention...Maybe that's why the E.P. [is recommended] by Virgin Megastore - a 1st for an unsigned band." - NY Press
"NYC based The Upwelling are one of the rare bands that create art for art's sake. Making them even more rare is how they successfully avoid the trappings of self-indulgence and are instead inventive, inspired and most importantly - listenable." - Kings of A&R
"Their hypnotizing live show gained momentum at South by Southwest and at various spots across the US, further cementing their reputation as a band that can make you feel groovy while still packing a punch." - Spin.com
"It's shocking just how assured this E.P. is. Three dudes from Brooklyn, without a label or studio, have done what Pink Floyd tried to do with Dark Side of the Moon." - Splendid E-Zine

- THE RIDEAWAYS -
Justin Kaufman and his 2000 song repertoire arrived at Connecticut College in the fall of 2000. Instead of using the college's resources to pursue his interests in neuroscience and government, Justin spent the majority of his time arranging, recording, and performing his songs. Justin's intense passion for music immediately caught the attention of Alex Sandman, a fellow freshman and lead guitar player, and the two would soon pair up to form a driven and innovative creative duo. Over the course of the next three years, Kaufman and Sandman dedicated the majority of their time towards crafting and polishing songs, learning production and engineering, and planning their assault on the international music scene.
After graduation, they moved to New York City to build a band and record their first album. Within no time, Kaufman's songs generated tremendous interest among popular producers, specifically Roger Moutenot (Guster, Yo La Tengo, Michelle Branch). Moutenot, along with David Sancious (Bruce Springsteen), Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley), and Jonathan Maron (Groove Collective) signed on to record a five song EP at Allaire Studios. Despite a group of tight recordings and interest from labels, Kaufman and Sandman decided to pull the plug on the album during post-production. They wanted something fresher, harder, faster, and all together better. Knowing they needed a great lead vocalist to build around, they convinced songwriter Ian Hogan from Rochester to move to New York City and be their frontman. Ian then recruited his old friend from Rochester and bassist, Joe Christoff. They then added old friend Matt Stamm ..s, and then Andrew Shaw eventually joined as drummer. The Rideaways were born.
With Sandman at the production helm, The Rideaways began re-recording their EP, this time with innovative arrangements and an edgy sound that finally equipped the songs with the passion and energy they deserved. The EP was released on September 28, and sold over 800 copies on the first day.
The Rideaways combine innovative pop melodies, powerful vocals, soaring electric guitars, and a pounding rhythm section to form an unprecedented style of electrifying pop alternative rock. Ian Hogan sings about love and politics with a powerful and passionate scruffy voice reminiscent of Eddie Vedder and Peter Gabriel. Three electric guitars merge to create a thick yet fascinatingly clear sonic atmosphere that often draws comparisons to U2, Coldplay, and Boston. The rhythm section uses Hornsby-esque rhythmic piano to add punch to an already driving and Zeppelin-esque drum and bass combination.
The Rideaways are currently in pre-production to record a full length record over the summer. They will be doing select shows and plan to hit the road hard in the fall with new record in tow. The ride is just beginning...

- FOOLING APRIL -
Infectious pop hooks, Unforgettable melodies, Memorable solo chops...
With a new release and a great year already in the works, the Philly-based melodic piano-driven quartet - Fooling April - further solidify their reputation as a serious player on the national music landscape. In addition to extensive regional touring and cross-country college tours, Campus Activities Magazine named Fooling April as one of the top 10 Music Picks for 2007. The publication is the #1 buyer resource for college entertainment and is distributed at every campus in the US and many in Canada and overseas as well. Earlier this year, Fooling April was featured on Billboard.com for Billboard Magazine's Underground Sessions. The streaming video of their performance and interview at Billboard's New York offices has been seen by millions of music fans.
Their highly anticipated April 2007 sophomore release, entitled "In the Now," is getting great reviews from both fans and industry and builds on the success of their first album, "Every Good Boy Does Fine." "Firefly", the band's first single from their debut, spent close to 4 months at #1 on Clear Channel's Unsigned Top 10, earning spins on Top 40 radio in major US markets. The band has been featured on over 450 Clear Channel radio station websites as a "band to watch." All of this came shortly after being selected the flagship band for a new online venture, American Idol Underground. This opportunity would lead to appearances on FOX and NBC television as well as a full feature in American Idol the Magazine. Celebrities such as Columbia recording artist Teddy Geiger and Alex Chando (CBS' As The World Turns) fed the buzz by sporting Fooling April apparel to major media events such as the 2006 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and People Magazine's "100 Most Beautiful".
David Bash, respected LA Music Critic and founder of The International Pop Overthrow Festival, states in Amplifier Magazine of their debut: "If you're looking for pop rock that's blessed with style and taste, look no further than Every Good Boy Does Fine, the debut disc by Philadelphia-based combo Fooling April. Lead singer/lyricist, Brian Kenneth's rich resonant vocals punctuate the stylish interplay between his keyboards and Rado's guitar licks. The CD adds three live tracks, proving that Fooling April's skill is not a product of the studio. This is a band that would have absolutely been
signed in the '70s, and deserve a major label deal today."
Cute, young lead singer Brian Kenneth, is not only a top-flight singer; he's also a virtuoso keyboardist whose charisma and showmanship has created a nationwide following. Possessing a street team over 1,500 members strong and growing, Fooling April has expertly utilized the web in spreading the word about their efforts. Professionally, they are backed by a team including a manager, entertainment attorney, college agent, club agent, publicist, and online marketing and street team coordinator.
Fooling April has enjoyed the opportunity to support such influential bands as Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Franz Ferdinand, Dido, The Flaming Lips, Pat McGee Band, the Strokes, Hoobastank, the Beastie Boys, Carbon Leaf and Fountains of Wayne among others. The band will be touring the remainder of 2007 in support of their new release and are available to package as support from Aug 2007 forward.
