About Me

Created with mySpace Profile EditorI like simple things - myself(!), good company, conversation and laughter. I suppose friends would describe me as quiet but not shy, witty and occasionally completely thoughtless. I can think of no better evening than catching up with friends with a pint and some good food. I like meeting people. I like conversation. I'm also a good listener.Other things I like: humour, down to earth folk, peppermint and frankinsence, the cold side of the pillow, yorkshire puds, home cooking, vegetable juicing, people who don't quite fit in and don't care, quirkiness. Some things I don't like: 1/2 pint shot of wheatgrass, mindless consumption, alpha male cavemen, cruelty of any kind, the 'in' crowd, bad manners. Bus drivers who wave as they drive right past you when you're 5 seconds from the stop.

My Interests

Well, I like decent pint of ale and live music. Arts in general and meeting people. I think most about stuff when I'm talking with or listening to people. Endlessly fascinated by what other people have to say!

I'd like to meet:

Most people at least once. Some people many times, friends more often than I can because I'm too knackered. Any rich young starlet with a circular flat in Mayfair and an obscure record collection. If her dad's in who's who that's a bonus :)I do not want to meet fickle phoney people who say one thing and do another. I value my true friends highly.

Music:

Loads of stuff. No, really. In no order: miracle legion/ mark mulcahy, linda perhacs, gorecki, keith jarrett, michael gira, syd barrett, stan tracy, nick drake, john zorn, karlheinz stockhausen, can, eek a mouse, tv personalities, only ones, arvo part, annette peacock, john cage, camper van beethoven. Lots more besides.

Movies:

Thx 1138,The Unbearable lightness of being, Silent running, Any Jan Svankmajer animation, Blow-up.

Television:

I don't watch telly. Apart from cookery programmes.

Books:

Cookery books relax me, especially ones that are more cultural history through cooking. Newspapers, magazines. Not really a reader of fiction.

Heroes:

Any kind people with manners and a passion for life. People who can laugh at the world and themselves and have fun.
