Jaywalker BiographyImagine a musical experience that captures the audience attention from the very first note to the final encore. Whether you have musical ability yourself, never played an instrument or sang a tune in your life, JAYWALKER gives an inspiring performance which guarantees to captivate you and hold you in the moment.Recently merging itself from a 5 piece Pop/Rock outfit to the hard working duo format, Jason Hicks (lead vocals, guitars) and Bob Allan (lead guitar, back up vocals) are currently writing and recording for their upcoming album release. What becomes apparent immediately is the perfect blend of both voices with each other, an unmistakable and pure sound within itself, combined with an amazing range and depth. The two have formed their highly regarded covers acoustic duo "End of August" and have quickly established themselves on the club/pub scene on the Central Coast and Newcastle/Hunter regions as one of the hardest working acts around town. This has carried over into the original material with their heartfelt passion for music and mutual respect for each other obvious at every performance, recognizing the importance of music and the profound effect it has on people’s lives, including their own. One major goal of the song writing process, is for the songs to transcend between intimate acoustic shows to larger venue shows.Being the singer songwriter for the now disbanded coast outfit Field Day, Jason is no new kid on the block when it comes to the music scene, touring with the likes of The Whitlams and Human Nature as well as supports with a huge network of established artists such as George, Iota, Cruel Sea and Superjesus, he and Field Day sold over 5,500 copies Australia wide as well as good radio airplay whilst earning kudos as a reputable songwriter and vocalist. Combined with the brilliant guitar and vocal abilities of Bob Allan, this was a match made in heaven.JAYWALKER have already toured with the likes of Xavier Rudd and supported Sarah Mcleod, Killing Heidi, Kate Miller Heidke and Diesel and with the help of former band mates Glenn Phipps, James Dennett and Jeff Hall, recorded their latest single “You Live, You Learn†which was released in July 07 to a sold out show at The Vanguard, Sydney. JAYWALKER finished 2nd in the peoples choice section of the Music Oz Awards 2007 and have been asked to appear twice on Scout TV, a new show, showcasing independent artists. More recently, JAYWALKER performed another successful show at The Vanguard June 2008 releasing their film clip and showcasing new material for their upcoming album release as well as local headlines at Lizottes.
