"I assure you it is not true that Americans don't want to work. ***********************************************"We had been told that 270 jobs might be available, and we could have filled every one of them with men from this area, most of whom lost their jobs because of the hurricane," she said. "When we told the guys they would not be needed, they actually cried ... and we cried with them. This is a shame." ********************************************************* Mrs. Swope said employment agencies throughout Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi faced similar problems, when thousands of men from Mexico and several Central and South American countries -- many in crowded buses and trucks -- came into the three states after Katrina, looking for employment and willing to work for less money. ********************************************************** The number of foreign workers who flooded the area after the hurricane has been estimated at more than 30,000. Many of them have been identified by law-enforcement authorities and others as illegal aliens. ********************************************************* The Gulf Coast Latin American Association noted in a report that whether those workers will remain after the cleanup work is completed is not clear, but the longer those jobs last, the more likely it is that the workers will settle permanently. Had I been any other nationality they would have signed me right up and gave away the farm... ********************************************************** So I beleive it's time that this ridiculousness ends...My children are entitled to go to a school where English is the only language and their learning is not slowed down because the teachers need to spend extra time teaching illegal immigrants how to speak our languange.. ********************************************************** The problem lies in our Republicn leaders and their big business "compadres". These are the people who hire at wages that wouldn't feed a worm. These are the people who hire accountants to hide profits so that they don't have to pay tax on it...WHen they take 42% of my wages to pay for their illegal workers, health care and sending thier children to my schools...Those are the people we need to target first.. Boycott all businesses that hire at less than minimum wage... STOP buying products that are made in other countries and shipped here.. Make our business leaders see that AMerican's will only buy products made by American's. IN AMERICA... ********************************************************** Big business are fucking the AMerican economy in two ways, the first by hiring illegals and taking your jobs away and the second by outsourcing jobs to India, Pakistan, Foreign nations that have cheaper labor and less labor laws, therefore taking my job away.. This has to end.. Look at the amount of layoff's in the last two years in the US and then look at the amount of jobs that are created in other countries.. Makes me sick....It's all about the dollar instead of the people AND THAT NEEDS TO END.... ********************************************************** I watch as all these protesters march in the street and can't help wondering two things: Are these people legal to be here using our first amendment?? Maybe they need to show some sort of documentation as they protest or we should lock them up and send them back...And finally I ask myself where are all the people that are fed up with it?? Where is THAT protest?? ********************************************************** I've heard people tell me that this country is founded on immigrants.. That is true.. I am not against having people come here, work hard and build thier dream.. But it has to be done legally and they have to have the same standards that the rest of us have.. I am tired of giving away everything that I have worked my whole life for to people who feel they are entitled without giving it back.. ********************************************************** So again.. I SUPPORT YOU 100%.. I will walk, talk, write by your side to get the word out and do something before it is too late.. Don't get discouraged.. Keep fighting.. People are listening..
