About Me

Try the BEST MySpace Editor at MySpace Toolbox ! The songs on this page are by my old band My Favourite Things, all recorded in Coventry in the mid 90s. I wrote the songs, sang lead & played guitar, Simon O'Grady played bass, Peter Burke drummed and we all sang backing vocals and played anything else there was to play. We started out as The Shades in 1978 and stayed together until 1996, (just when we were getting the hang of it!) The highlight of our 'career' was supporting INXS, which was great fun. During and after this time, I used to play with Starpower, Hedy, the hungry i (all ex-Primitive bands, for anyone who remembers their hit 'Crash'), Martyn Bates (of Eyeless in Gaza), Honey Rider and probably some other people. Thesedays, I mostly play bass in the Anna Page Band (at the Boogaloo first Monday of every month): banjo & lap steel with the folktastic James McArthur (at the Gladstone last Sunday of every month); bass, guitar and stuff with Limozine; bass with the fabulously psychedelic Instant Flight; and bass with The Snakes. I can occasionally be heard singing my own songs around the camp fire, or busking down the underground for small change.
