Mr Henry Von @ Resident Advisor
Biog:
Mr Henry Von is in the middle of carrying out his threat to become one of the most exciting DJs of his generation. What makes him so different is his dedication to making his sets have a raw feel whilst ripping up the rule book at the same time – so you never know just what is in store untill it is coming right at you. In Ableton Live he edits his tracks to give them more unexpected twists and turns. In the club he uses Traktor Scratch through the CDJs, midi controller, Soundbite sampler and what ever he can get his hands on to get away from the norm. His sole aim, simply, to help everyone he meets have the best night of their life.In the last two years Von has gone from being spotted by Fergie whilst playing at a party to launch his web site, to becoming his DJMag ‘DJ To Watch In ’07.’ Over this time Von's sound has developed into an unmistakable mixture of techno bass and house grooves; forward thinking underground music - yes, but not just for underground people.2006 threw him headfirst into the action and showed how versatile he can be, from lining up alongside Troy Pierce at Tetris Safari in Northern Ireland, to warming up for Sister Bliss at Colours in Glasgow, and even playing Godskitchen main room in Birmingham before Fergie. The year finished back up in Scotland with Colours.2007 started at Firefly in Nottingham, warming up for the British Murder Boys. What has made the year unbelievable has been his sets for Fergie’s Excentric night. After signing to his Excentric Artists agency he was made resident for the parties at The Key, London, played at the Birmingham parties at Chic and The Custard Factory, before jet setting off to Ibiza for Excentric’s Monday nights at Kanya (from June through to September). As weekly resident Von played each and every Excentric party and pre party, culminating at Privilige when Excentric hosted the Coco Loco Room for Meganite. He regularly mixed live on Ibizan FM and online radio station HFM. He played the Ketoloco parties alongside Fisha and Kate Lawler, he also returned to the UK briefly in August for the ‘Loch Lommond festival after party’ held by Colours at The Arches in Glasgow, making it one hectic but unforgettable summer. So far in his time with Excentric, he has warmed up for or followed after Slam, Phil Kieran, Gregor Tresher, Anderson Noise, The Japanese Popstars, Tom Pooks, Kevin Gorman, Alan Simms, Matt Tolfrey, Spektre, Psycatron, Mistress De Funk, Timmy Stewart and Jus’ Phil.Since his return to normality his travels have continued with a trip over the Irish sea to Jordan X’s Sunday Switch in Belfast, and over the border to Excentric’s residency at The Ice Factory, Perth. Excentric’s return to The Custard Factory in November for Ferg's birthday turned into an Ibiza reunion and to round off the year a headline trip to The Tikki Lounge in Cork turned into something more closely resembling Ibiza Rocks. He is now preparing to literally lock himself away in the studio where he plans to create as much havoc and excitement as he does on the dance floor. It’s definitely worth sticking around to see what the hell this guy will do next so stay tuned…
