Movies:

One night I started thinking about all of the cinematic experiences I have had (well, not ALL of them:Ha!) I feel that movies are a way to 'escape', to 'deepen your senses', to 'THINK, REFLECT', to 'LAUGH and hopefully also to find humility and triumph in the human spirit and so much more. Here are just a few that came to mind last night which have particularly moved me through the years: Harold and Maude*Into The Wild*The Graduate*Before Sunrise and Before Sunset (finally a 'sequel' that didn't suck!)*Toy Story 1 and 2 (another sequel that didn't suck)*The Sound of Music*Mary Poppins*To Kill A Mockingbird*Once*Chicago*Easy Rider*Junebug*Dream For An Insomniac*About A Boy*It's A Wonderful Life*Amelie*In America* Bonnie and Clyde* Sleepless In Seattle*The Hours*Crash*Shortcuts*March of the Penguins*Annie Hall* *Life Is Beautiful*Shawshank Redemption*Garden State*The Holiday*Down By Law* American Splendor*Casablanca*In A Lonely Place and so many other films from the 30's/40's/50's (Quite obsessed at the moment and in a bit of a time warp); I will watch anything which Johnny Deppth brings to life; anything by Charlie Kaufman,Christopher Guest, and most by Cameron Crowe and the Coen brothers

Books:

The Alchemist; The Little Prince; To Kill A Mockingbird;Letters To A Young Poet;like movies, too many to mention!

Happy Birthday, Dorothy Parker

I felt inspired to pay homage to one of my favorite writers, Dorothy Parker.  Below are just a few that have stayed with me through the years.  Her sharp wit and sarcasm shine on! Somebody's...

Mark Twain's perspective on aging

Seems every year on my birthday I should be sent off to rehab for O.D.ing on Introspection.  As I gracefully aknowledge another year having had passed, morphing through tunnels of cynicism, I wou...

How can I be so phobic of something capable of such intricate beauty?  I could stare at spiderwebs for minutes at a time, yet even witnessing the tiniest speedray (even pronouncing the word...
