P OISON WIND
Clip: http://www.youtube.com/azsurfwolfI have been producing a film, since late 2007, about uranium mining on Indigenous lands in the Southwest and at the Grand Canyon. POISON WIND tells the story of a corrupt government, unconscionable greed and a policy of destruction aimed at the Aboriginal Homelands of Indigenous People and former uranium miners from the 1940's until today. It is a documentary which focuses on the lives being destroyed by the deadly legacy of uranium mining and effects of radiation...as a government’s cruel secret is carried on the face of the wind. I am honored to be joined in this project, as co-producer, by Diné filmmaker, Norman Patrick Brown (REZ HOPE, HORSE SONG).
My crew & I spent a good portion of last year filming near uncapped uranium mines in the 4 Corners area, near Gallup and Grants, NM. This area is home to some of the most environmentally contaminated lands in the US and yet we hear nothing from the traditional media about it. Our goal is to hopefully make a difference through the film POISON WIND.
