About Me

My Interests

science, music (listening and playing), snowboarding, hiking, playing sports, astronomy, Eastern/Native American spirituality, history, human psychology, non-human life forms, contemplating the universe...sarcasm, cynicism...obscure humor...(I'm sure there's more...)

I'd like to meet:

My brother Christopher... "; I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

Music:

I like music that entrains my brain...both musically and lyrically. Here are a few of my favorites (in no particular order...depends on my mood)Ozric Tentacles (progressive space/trance), Tool (Lateralus is my favorite), Voivod (awesome psychedelic metal), Rush, A Perfect Circle, The Mars Volta, Black Sabbath, early Fates' Warning, early Flotsam and Jetsam, Bad Religion (No Control is my favorite), early Cult (Death Cult), Dead Can Dance/Lisa Gerrard, Chopin, Beethoven, Pearl Jam, Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, early Stone Temple Pilots, Agnostic Front (Victim in Pain), Mercyful Fate, System of a Down, early Metallica, Coldplay, The Verve, Bjork, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, early U2, Pixies, Yes, The Stone Roses, The Types, Cracker/Camper van Beethoven, Descendents, Dead Kennedys, Primus, Pink Floyd, Days of the New, Neil Young, Queens of the Stone Age, The Ramones, Butthole Surfers, The Pretenders, The Cure, early R.E.M., Sonic Youth, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, early/mid Stones, early AC/DC (Bon Scott)........and much more (I'm just adding to the list as I think of them)

Movies:

I normally don't watch many movies, but I always remember quotes from "Better Off Dead" :) I usually like obscure movies, but don't remember a whole lot about them later...I do know I don't like overly "Hollywood" or stupid movies, makes me feel like I've just wasted several hours...Here's some that I remember...The Pianist, The Hours, Girl, Interrupted...Awakenings, The Wall, Pi, The Shining, The Fly, Adaptation, 2001: A Space Odyssey...hmmm...funny movies like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Airplane, Vacation, Christmas Vacation, etc....there's more...I just can't think of them right now.

Television:

Science channel, Discovery, National Geographic, History channel, etc. I absolutely can't stand commercials...I guess that's why I don't watch a whole lot of TV.

Books:

Ever since college, I seem to mostly read non-fiction. I like books about cosmology, energetic healing, consciousness...I used to really enjoy Carlos Castaneda's books until I read that he was a fraud. Now I'm not sure what to think...I still think they were great stories..."The Physics of Consciousness", Evan Harris Walker; "King Phillip's War", don't remember the author, but it's a great account of the history of the Eastern Native Americans and the English...stuff I never learned about in school...; "Hands of Light", Barbara Brennan; "Destination: Void", Frank Herbert; "Brave New World", Aldous Huxley; "The Dragons of Eden", Carl Sagan; "Ghost Rider", Neil Peart; "Desert Solitaire", Edward Abbey :); "The Holotropic Mind", Stanislav Grof................

Heroes:

My Grandpa...He's 85 years old and still rides a motorcycle. He also built a house using a ruler with no numbers and a pencil with no lead...:)??! I'm sure there are more, I just need to think of them...
