Are dating and martinis genuinely considered interests? Music (both mine and others), singing (both performing and being an audience member), art (both creating and viewing), writing, reading, photography, acting, poker, dancing, movies of all kinds, Atlanta, travel, computers, web design, sun-worshipping, tarot, blogging, writing long and rambling e-mails, yoga, spirituality, cooking, philosophy, literature, television addict, psychology, passionate discussions on just about any subject out there, clubbing, going to concerts, clothing/costume design, MP3's, wine, meeting interesting new people, planning stuff for social groups around town, challenging convention, forcing others to think outside of the box, and generally wreaking havoc as a tiny person in a big world who's determined to make an impression. ;P
I like to meet people of all sorts, but especially those who are unique, individualistic, creative, intelligent, and not afraid to play by their own rules....or at least break some of the pre-existing ones. ;) I gravitate towards people who are somewhat "different", and confident enough to just be themselves. I'm looking for those who inspire my interest with their originality, kindred spirits, coffeehouse companions, people who are in touch with their inner dorkiness enough to think board games are awesome, those who never pass up a new experience in life, and movie and music lovers everywhere.:) I play poker, and am somewhat serious about it these days..so I'm looking for a few new friends who are into that. I always love meeting romantics, intellectuals, philosophers, writers, artists, idealists, or simply those with interesting stories to tell. If you're intriguing in some way, I won't regret a conversation with you. I'm not really searching for a relationship at the moment (my life is pretty complicated right now!!), but I certainly won't fail to pay attention should I meet the right person.:) It always makes me smile when I run into the sort of person who strikes that "potential soulmate" chord. (soulmates,of course, are not always of the romantic variety.) I like the idea that, despite being totally wacky, there are people out there just like me...or at least, who can understand me ;) *laughs* Recently, I had a pretty dramatic falling out with a group of friends I invested alot of time and energy in, so I'm currently a little more guarded and introverted than is my normal personality. I'm sure I'll return to loving my fellow human beings in no time!!:)

I listen to all sorts of music, from opera to jazz to classical to classic rock. I like everything except country, and trance. (in general) Current favourites include Coldplay, The Killers, Muse, She Wants Revemge, Radiohead, Buckcherry (my ringtone!),My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Jet, Portishead, Tori Amos,NIN (I *heart* Trent Reznor),and a ton of others. I'm definitely ecclectic. Favourite composers are Rachmaninoff,Mozart, and Chopin. I love jazz...anything so blatantly emotional is bound to get my attention.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Garden State, Closer, Sideways, Match Point, Sylvia, Amelie, Dancer In The Dark, Casablanca, Amadeus, The Godfather, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, Notting Hill, Derailed. I'm a movie junkie, so I have a ton of favourites.I'm a sucker for indie films, obscure art flicks, intensely evocative dramas, twisted psychological thrillers, and anything that makes you think. If it's dark, twisted, and smashes the rose-coloured glasses with which we're tempted to look at human relationships, I probably love it. ;)
TV is my weakness. My perfect man, should he exist, will have TiVo and not be afraid to use it.;P I love reality TV (and almost appeared on one!), especially "Survivor","Big Brother","The Amazing Race",and "The Apprentice". All-time favourite shows include "The West Wing" and "Six Feet Under". I don't like sitcoms, but have seen every single episode of "Frasier". Other favourites these days are "Sopranos" and "House". I also watch way too much "Law And Order"; there's a slight possibility I may be a lawyer in a few states. ;)
"The Fountainhead","Lady Chatterley's Lover","The Unbearable Lightness Of Being","The Idiot","Prozac Nation","White Oleander","Memoirs Of A Geisha","The Five People You Meet In Heaven","The Age Of Innocence","Bridget Jones' Diary", anything by Sylvia Plath, the diaries and writings of Anais Nin,and almost anything by Anne Rice or John Grisham. Lately, I've become much enamoured of Paulo Coelho (thanks,Elena!), and have even been inspired to finally wade my way through a Gabriel Garcia Marquez. ;P I am a very quick reader, and stay up rather late hours, so I end up reading a great deal. I'm fond of anything controversial and ahead of its time...I'm trying to read all 100 of "The Most Banned Books Of All Time". ;P
I admire those who have the courage to march to the beat of their own drum, are free with what they have to offer to the world, and leave their mark on the hearts of others in the best way they know how. I respect those who live life to the fullest, and I love those who are extraordinary in mind and spirit. These people are my heroes in the world. You never know, you may be one of them. ;)
