About Me

Hello, I'm Kevin, aka Dracolupus, the primary guitarist for
.
Dracolupus was a funny bloke who come from Boston town
He picked up guitar at age fourteen in hopes of world renown
Well now he’s turnin’ 26 and what does he have to show?
Well, I’m not right sure, but let me tell you this is what I know
Good old Draco was an Irishman too, and of this somewhat proud
And if he had enough pint in him, of this he would get loud
Draco was a Pagan man who loved his ancestral gods
He liked to do the Druid thing, what a silly clod
They say that Draco was in fact a bloody red Commie,
But he was a Socialist in the Green-Rainbow Party
Draco played his guitar in a band called the Shadows Smile
He brought that Goth band a bit of the good old Metal style
Well, Draco liked his history and a bit of blasphemy
He also liked to learn of languages and occult philosophy
What else can we say of him, well, perhaps that he is shy
But give 3 pints of the black stuff and you’ll get a verbose guy

Things I stand for: The abolishment of capital punishment, liberalism, leftist politics, a functional multiparty system within the US, complete separation of church and state, total and unequivocal egalitarianism, the right for a group of people to determine their own form of government and/or national identity, (real) universal health care, environmentalism, evolution, the survival of the human race, the spread of representative republics, diplomatic resolutions, free speech, freedom of religion or lack thereof, the withering away of conservative politics and more! I am also considering the possible merits of a supranational North American entity, similar to the EU and AU.
You scored as Celtic Pantheonic Pagan, Your answers leaned very close to that of the Celtic Pantheon. Very popular now among pagans, the Celtic Gods seem to draw those who are sensitive and insightful, but also very passionate about their beliefs. Many Pagan Holidays are named for this pantheon and here is where you'll find many stories on Horned God, Green Man, and Druids. You likely either have been or want to visit Stonehenge one day. Many Arthurian legnds include references to the Celtic faith, as well.

My Interests

Basically history, music, and the creation of the universe theory du jour, barring that intelligent design nonsense of course. Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Keyboards/Synth, Swords, Drinking coffee, eating, Mythology, Reading about religions, mocking all religions (including my own), Irish stuff, Russian stuff, The Bubonic Plague, The Cold War/The Bomb, Drawing in a vaguely comic book and comic strip kind of style, Ruminating over life's mysteries, Entertaining myself with conspiracy theories, Getting terrible songs stuck in people's heads, compulsively buying composition notebooks and index cards.

I'd like to meet:

IF YOU WANT ME TO ADD YOUR BAND, READ MY MUSICAL PREFERRENCES BEFORE YOU SEND ME A REQUEST. THAT WAY YOU SAVE US BOTH TIME I get along with most people so it really doesn't matter as long as you aren't excessively irritating or belligerent. Smart, undereducated, tall, short, ugly, gorgeous, thin, obese, I don't care. I say hello to you all. Of course, like many, if you are gorgeous, I will stutter hello to you, and then probably blush and run off. So don't take it personally. If you speak Irish, especially the Connemara dialect, I would be interested in making your acquaintance. My Irish is horrible, and if I have Gaeltacht friends, I might be more driven to improve my command of it. Also Russian speakers to help me maintain what I know and improve it.I don't discriminate and don't care what god you worship (or don't), what color your skin is, or who you take to bed with you (or how many.... or how many at once...)

Music:

IF YOU WANT ME TO ADD YOUR BAND, READ THIS SECTION BEFORE SENDING ME A FRIEND REQUEST. SAVE US BOTH SOME TIME. Primarily any music that has guitar as a major instrument. Mostly Heavy Metal and its offshoot genres (Black Metal, Death Metal, Extreme Melodic Noise Technical Stoner Sludge Corpse Plague Metal (I'm sure there's some band out there that calls themselves that.)), but I also like some classical, classic rock, regular rock, blues, punk and folky type/celtic stuff. Also stuff with a medieval flavor, Gregorian chant and the like. I will probably like most music if it is dark, heavy or atmospheric.

National and international bands I like include Iron Maiden, Cradle of Filth, Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff, Blaze (i.e. Bailey), Megadeth, Motorhead, Emperor, Bathory, In Flames, Type O Negative, The Tea Party, Judas Priest, Rage Against the Machine, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Morbid Angel, Carfax Abbey, Nine Inch Nails, Black Sabbath, old Ozzy Osbourne, Spinal Tap (I don't care if they're not a real band), Dethklok (see Spinal Tap), Robert Johnson (yup, the blues dude who sold his soul to the Devil. Allegedly.) Magnet (the band that did the Wicker Man soundtrack) etc. etc. And I used to be into grunge so I have a soft spot for Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. Local (Bostonian and New England)acts I like: The band formerly known as Raze to Ashes (fronted by my long-time friend and former bandmate, Brendan Mulhern), Scarecrow Hill, From the Shadows (Bringing back NWOBHM!), Hostile Ground (You will be missed), Avariel, Troops of Doom, Habitual Offendaz, 13 Winters, My Mercy, Unholy Goatfucker, Last Chance for Autumn, Eternal Embrace, Lunch

New category!!! Semi-national/regional bands outside of New England: Dark Shift (Wisconsin), Devilsize (New York), Dyksick (Philadelphia)

Here's where I give a shout out to all other musicians I have played with in some sort of band or another: Brendan Mulhern, Karlos Colon, Scott McDonald, James Santosuosso, Tom McManamy, Jimmy Parmenter, Rhyland Gillespie, Mike Kelley, Chris Fittante, Andrew Stanton, Sean Figge, Boston Latin Academy Jazz Band circa 1997-1998

Movies:

Wicker Man is awesome (I prefer the original with Christopher Lee much more, but all I have to say is, "NOT THE BEES!!!" Fucking classic!!!)Borat, Spinal Tap (both of them. but the first one is better). I like ribald comedies, horror, sci-fi, historical, crime capers, stoner flicks, anything involving time travel, practically anything with Bruce Campbell and/or Ted Raimi, Cold War propaganda.

Television:

Irreverant social commentary type cartoons, like the Simpsons, South Park or the Family Guy. Also, Nova for telling me the creation of the universe theory du jour, Prison Break, 24, Lost, Metalocalypse, Stargate SG-1, X-Files, Heroes

Books:

I like Dune, the Vampire Chronicles, books about Paganism, the occult (which isn't really occulted if its in print) and ancient mythology, and I'm trying to get through a bunch of pulp horror/sci-fi/fantasy books that were given to me a long time ago and are collecting dust on my bookshelf. Also, I like books about history. Books about science and philosophy are also of interest. Science books however, have to be dumbed down for me, particularly when it involves physics and the creation theory du jour, as I don't follow mathematics very well. Pushkin's pretty good. My Irish and Russian text books, when I know where I've put them. Jack Chick Bible tract comics, because they're funny.

Heroes:

Bruce Dickinson, Renaissance Man: Iron Maiden vocalist, a guitarist and drummer in his own right, an author, a pilot, a DJ, makes regular appearances on the BBC, and was asked to join Great Britain's Olympic Fencing team in 1992. And he's shorter than me. I always think its cool when famous people are shorter than me.
The following guitar gods: Ihsahn (Emperor), Alexei Laiho (Children of Bodom), Jimi Hendrix, Tom Morello (RATM), Gian Pyres (formerly of Cradle of Filth), Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson/Tribe of Gypsies), Dave Murray/Adrian Smith/Janick Gers (Iron Maiden), Robert Johnson
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachov
The three men who had a part in my musical education:Jeff Cox, formerly of Norfolk County MusicMike DiSimone of Parkway Music(That filthy bastard), very much a fixture in the West Roxbury music sceneLance "Mr. Van" Van Lentin, Boston Latin Academy Jazz Band
Joxer the Mighty, how can you not love Joxer?
Zarathustra
Jesus. Not pussy hippie Jesus. Bad ass gun toting American Jesus.
Lord Xenu
The unknown Sumerian who invented beer
Arthur Guinness for perfecting beer
And, of course, Jack Fucking Bauer
