About Me

Gday! I'm Matt, or Pus to my mates. I used to have a record company blurb here but it sounded really wanky. So I pissed it off in favour of the following words to describe my solo project, A BUCKET OF PUS. I'd say it's pretty tough, honest, DIY, dirty, raw, tongue in cheek Aussie Rock. Sure, you can probably hear where my influences are; Aussie pub rock, 70's metal, 80's thrash and 90's punk rock. But I love new music so I'm constantly influenced by new shit.
'Raw and Sore' is my first CD where I've put together all the instruments and vocals myself. Ah, the wonders of modern technology can allow a bogan drummer like me to make and record my own noise and package it up all spiffy like. Woohoo, I'm stoked!
I've been managing and playing drums in several Perth bands over the years. Metal band PREDATOR was where I learnt my chops playing metalfests and touring WA's south. LEFT NUT was my next band and those guys were bloody mad! Multi-genre'd alternative punk rock with a twist that nobody really understood. Metal drums, cheezy keys, slap bass and a crazy frontman made us somewhat entertaining if not scary. But hey, we did it the hard way, but our own way and it's made me stronger.
Frustrated at the economics and practicalities of keeping 5 musos heading in the same direction, I decided to do my own shit and tudah! A BUCKET OF PUS became a reality. I'm always writing new stuff so check back later to see whats cookin'.Livin' it and Lovin' it Dudes!

I really dig alot of rockin' new heavy music too, especially Aussie stuff.
