"An inspired and innovative death metal band from Perth, iNFeCTeD was one of the stand-out entries in the Australian metal field in the first half of the 1990s... with a sound rivalling that of Godflesh and early Fear Factory..."
- Australian Metal Guide
"One of the most innovative and interesting bands in the country."
- LOUD! Magazine
"Theirs is a brand of death metal which captivates with its informed flavour, not just a head full of growl and grind bravado or dumb-arsed chest beating. Their riffs weigh a hell of a lot yet move with an agility that gets the wrist twitching - not unlike Carcass. Run a reinforced industrial edge around it that's not too dismiliar to Fear Factory's textures, and you're in for the duration."
- HM Magazine
"They are in the handful of Perth metal acts that are definitely world class."
- Xpress Magazine
"Their subsonic grindcore only gets better as technology creeps further into their sound... a piece like Brick Wall View shows iNFeCTeD as the tight, world-class noise-smiths that they truly are... Do yourself a service if you are slightly interested in the modern form of primeval musical power."

iNFeCTeD are an industrial/death metal hybrid from Perth, Western Australia.
They originally formed in 1991 under the moniker "Plague" but following a couple of personnel changes they changed their name to iNFeCTeD. After settling on a solid lineup in 1993 they recorded the demo cassette "Prick" which promptly scored them a two album deal with Australian metal label Thrust Records, a subsidiary of Shock Records. They recorded crawlspace (1994) and CoNTRoL(1995) for Thrust, the latter of which saw the addition of keyboards to the lineup.
Their deal with Thrust fulfilled, the band recorded a new demo in 1996 entitled TRiAL. They received some attention from the new Australian arm of Roadrunner Records but a deal did not eventuate and band split soon after, performing a farewell show to a packed Grosvenor Hotel in late '96.
During their tenure in the early-mid '90's they shared the live stage with many notable Australian and International extreme metal acts, including:
Abramelin (AUS)
Allegiance (AUS)
Armoured Angel (AUS)
Blood Duster AUS)
Boltthrower (UK)
Cannibal Corpse (USA)
Carcass (UK)
Christbait (AUS)
Fear Factory (USA)
Morbid Angel (USA)
Napalm Death (UK)
Persecution (AUS)
Psychrist (AUS)
Pungent Stench (Austria)
as well as completing 2 successful national Australian tours of their own and performing at the 1996 Big Day Out.
In 2003, iNFeCTeD reunited in the studio to record the final song they wrote before the split, straightwhitegod. They combined the new track with remastered versions of the songs from TRiAL to form a new EP which was launched at a one-off live show later that year.
The story now continues in 2008 with the band reforming for more shows and the promise of a remastered re-release of crawlspace later in the year through Prime Cuts music.
