About Me

My mom recently accused me of not doing enough with art. And I was surprised. Because she always thought I tended towards the dark. And maybe for the first time, she saw hope in the pictures that I showed her.So it was a strange thing for me. And I was up late wondering. Not so much about whether she was right, but rather about how life continues to change.Because I find myself slowly approaching thirty. Beginning this new career. And not knowing what to expect. A different role and a different perspective. Once identifying myself as an engineer. Now this strange mix of identities. With a love and fear of writing. Because it is addicting. And because I might be a better at it than engineering. Or maybe I just like it more. Which possibly is just as frightening. But still I find myself looking forward. Lucky and blessed with amazing friends and family. Overly independent. And overly introspective. Trying to understand the difference between passion and ambition. Or if it even matters.Because this twelve dollar palm reader in Israel told me everything was going to be alright. Maybe he saw some hope in this picture on my hand. And for some reason I believed him.And I have been happy ever since.

In some worlds, I thought it was a rediculous question. But sadly not in this one.

"Watch out for terrorists," the man says to his dog.And it is obvious the man is referring to me.  He glances at me as I am walking by. Making sure that I have heard him.  Over a week of not...
