SKAMARLANS

Skamarlans is a band form Barcelona (Spain), it was born in 1996 but it was not until 2002 that the band had a stable formation (2 guitars, bass, drums and violin). Since that date the band began to play many gigs around Spain and soon they began to tour around Europe, and then is when they took a more professional attitude. In 2004 one guitarist left the band, so now they are Miquel Lopez guitar and vocals, Pol Barbe bass and backing vocals, Raul Perez drums and vocals, Bernat Rebes violin and vocals.In the beggining they played only Ska but the formation changes gave the band lots of different influences. That fact is still present in the songs and lyrics. Experimenting with different styles always keeping the ska is something you can see in all their songs. Ska-metal-core is a good way to define that peculiar style, bands like System of a Down, Children of Bodom, Nofx, Mr. Bungle or Dream Theater are the main influences. The lyrics (in Catalan and Spanish) talk even about social problems and politic or other stories not that commited but not less deeper.
