Band Members: Andrew Anderson
Influences: In no particular order:
* anything electronic, breaks, dubstep, grime, drum n bass, techno, house, trance, turntablism, jazz, funk, symphony, new-wave-electro-synth-melodic-psytech-minimalist-pop type stuff,... etc
*I've been into electronic music for pretty much as long as I can remeber. Started out listening to my brother's collection of hardcore, hardhouse, jungle, techno, the usual early-mid 90s rave stuff.
*nubreed, itchie & scratchie, pivot, aquasky, tayo, freq nasty, carl cox, rolando, stacy pullen, pendulum, state of mind, klute, roni size, zinc, A.I., greg packer, plump dj's, hybrid, jds, krafty kuts, dj shadow,... etc
*finger lickin, hospital, full cycle, commercial suicide, intec, bingo, supercharged, 777, electrofly, soul:r, warehouse wax, destructive, boka, hotflush, white labels(love the bootlegs, legit of course),... etc. My whole music collection and then some
*Darren Jay's '94 mix cd 5555555, Tayo y4k dread at the controls and Beat & Bobs, James Lavelle Global Underground Barcelona, High Contrast Fabric mix, Carl Cox FACT Australia, DJ Shadow Endtroducing & The Private Press, UNKLE Psyence fiction & Never Never Land
*Hiphop/rap/funky/turntablism/random stuff like Koolism, Good Buddha, The Herd, Katalyst, The Avalanches, Roots Manuva, Sway, Dizzee Rascal, Ragga Twins, Jurassic 5, Blackalicious, Dead Prez, Supernatural. DJs Qbert, Mix Master Mike, Shadow, Cut Chemist, Dexter (wish I had those turntable skills). Anyone that keeps it funky, electronic, or dubby (don't mind a bit of politics thrown in for good measure either)
*the former sbs tv show 'alchemy', was great for all electronic music, saw my first glimspe of turntablism and was inspired, lets hope it will return someday
*the doco 'scratch', good history lesson on turntablism and its basis in hiphop
*local aussie radio like Triple J's mix up, the club and groove train, 2ser's various programs over the years from montage dnb sessions to dj vics techno show, and now fbi with the sunset sessions, velocity dnb, garage pressure, and the former dex fm
*All the books I've read and all the people I've met (well, actually not all of them, but you get the idea)
*The smell of the gum trees and the bush after the rain, the outback, sunrise, sunset, midnight, the smell of 2-stroke in the morning, the universe, gravity, E=MCsquared, market forces, advertising
*you know, all the usual stuff, check the friends list, a lot of the artists I like are on there, except for the ones who denied my request, but fair enough;)
Thanks for the inspiration!
