Lost Heroes

The sorriest excuse for hip-hop in New Jersey

About Me

We're Lost Heroes, and there are a lot of guns on our page for some reason.
The Hip-Hop-History
Around 2000, Monkey & DJ Cornblake stared a parody rap group called the "Vanilla Heroes". This project was quickly abandoned for the (what we called and thought was cool at the time) gothic ghetto poetry of the "Lost Heroes". Meanwhile, DJ Cornblake hooked up with Baltimore's Coren Drake to reflect the music's harsher feel. A four song EP "Suburbia" was released and featured prominent Boro hip hop/soul artists like Big E, Li'l A, & the Brown Sound.
Before a full length LP could be released; Cornblake, Coren Drake & Monkey suffered simultaneous computer crashes - losing every trace that they ever existed. Crushed, the trio ditched the project until years later in '06. Monkey was spending some quality time at the local loony bin when Cornblake created a masterwork that sampled Johnny Cash's "Hurt". Using lyrics Monkey had penned up in-between shock treatments, the first Lost Heroes track in almost six years, "The Hurt On" was born. With the fire lit under his ass, Monkey started penning up rhymes and stealing beats from more prominent rappers wherever he could.
2006 was an big year for the Heroes. "The November 27th Conspiracy" & "Land of the Lost" sold out in pre-order and Monkey had been too broke to make up anymore. Also, our resident blackness, Coren Drake had departed us. He's laced up his gloves and stepped back into the Baltimore Battle scene, where he hopes to be discovered. No bad blood, no drama. Just good luck and God speed, you black emperor! In the record deal battle, we will be signing with Bottle Cap Collection Records, operated by Boro musical mastermind Blake Luley. With all due respect to the other label who was interested, we're too lazy to actually produce shit on schedule (As Lost Heroes fans have come to realize and revile). Transient Audio Phenomena, DJ M4, David "Motherfucking" Tango, & Sibur Neddick's remixes of "The Hurt On" have led to the creation of "The Hurt On" remix record - Click HERE for more details. Last, but not least, beats are being created and rhymes penned up for the next Lost Heroes full-length, at this point called "Forty Eight".
...And that's how we saved Christmas.
The Mission
Lost Heroes dedicates itself to bring the old school back into Hip-Hop with all our fancy, shiny modern influences. Priding itself on not applying the contemporary rap success formula, Lost Heroes hopes to create sweet original beats & provocative lyrics.
"Yeah, Right."
On top of all that, Lost Heroes supports all artists who choose realistic rap over hedonistic hip hop.
In addition - Lost Heroes is awesome.
