About Me

KEITH MITCHELL Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Keith developed his love for music and singing from his gospel roots in the Pentecostal Church, Zion Tabernacle located in Indianapolis, Indiana pastored by elder Grover C. Mills. During his earlier years at the age of 9, Keith was called to be the director of the young adult choir where he was often called upon to lead songs. His success at Zion Tabernacle in singing the gospel afforded him the opportunity to be selected as a member of the Indianapolis Pentecostal Mass Choir at the age of 14. His family has always been deeply involved with the body of Christ in search of truth and understanding.A few years past and Keith graduated from Arlington High School, and he went on to attend College at Indiana University on campus in Bloomington, Indiana. While at ending Indiana University Keith studied Business Management and music. While attending Indiana University Keith began to develop and sharpen his entertainment and recording skills. He was a four-year member of the Indiana University Soul Revue, a traveling musical and performing arts ensemble. This is a college class comprised of 40 students who all had special skills and or talents needed in order to put on a two-hour live show of singing and dancing. Keith was a member of the male stand-up vocal group. After graduation Keith moved to Chicago, Illinois for several years. While living in Chicago, here is where he got to experience the grind of the 9 to 5 routines of life as a Financial Planner and an Investment Advisor for the John Hancock Companies. After working in Chicago for 4 years Keith received a call from his longtime friends Kevin and Melvin Edmonds to come and join them in forming a group, nationally known recording act “After 7”. In 1989 the group recorded and released its debut Album “After 7”, which garnered the group two Gold Singles “Ready of Not” and “Can’t Stop”. The success of those hits and of the single “In the Heat of the Moment” pushed their debut Album to Platinum, Plus status. And when you add to that success, 12 other R&B and Pop Top Ten hits spread between 3 Albums, it’s easy to understand how this group attracted National attention. This success earned the group a Grammy Nomination, and an American Music Award Nomination that year. In the spring of 1990 the group won a NAACP Image Award for the Best New Group or Duo.Being a member of the group After 7 has given Keith the opportunity to perform on stage in over 8 different countries. After 7’s live show was known throughout the Industry as possibly the best opening act in the business performing in over 800 live shows. This reputation won the group the opportunity to tour with such acts like: Whitney Houston, Levert, Patti Labelle, Regina Belle, Gladys Knight, The Whispers, The O’Jays, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Shai, Chante Moore, Keith Sweat, BBD, Johnny Gill, MC Hammer and many more.In 1997, the group took some time off and each member focused on some of their individual goals. Keith opened a successful Bar-B-Que Joint, Smokehouse Ribs in Atlanta, Georgia in September of 1994, while the Group was still promoting their third album “Reflections”. Here, Keith mastered the Greatest Tasting’ Bar-b-que found in Atlanta. From the endeavors mentioned above Keith has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in a variety of areas. He was allowed the opportunity to learn all the various facets of the ever-changing Music Business. To have learned by doing is the true measure of whether or not someone is capable of leading and guiding others, based upon the success and tenure of their opportunities. That’s why Keith started One Point Five Management, Inc. that he established in January of 2001; so he could begin to share the secrets to success and h is experiences with other young talent that needed to be guided through the maze of the Music Business. Keith Managed Sarai, 21-year-old white female Rapper sensation, signed to Epic Records, who was released in the spring of 2004.found this travel layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com :: MyHotComments
