About Me

..Shortly after moving to Philadelphia in 2003 she sparked the interest of a local producer and began to record and perform in the Philly area. With her incredible songwriting and vocal skills she was almost immediately asked to accompany various artists on their projects. She has worked with such artists as: The Indikator, (a dope emcee from the Philly based label Damage Recordings), Nemiss (one of Chicago and Brooklyn's hottest female soul lyricists), Soul X, (a Philly based producer and hot new upcoming R&B artist) and Majic also known as Maj (the flyy Philly based emcee) who has also blessed Micki's debut album with his unstoppable flow on the track entitled "Let Tha Funk". In December 2005, Micki took things to the next level when she opened in concert for Baby Cham also known as Cham ( the renowned Reggae (Dance Hall) artist. She has also performed along side other accomplished artists such as: Mamaluco (the astonishing Philadelphia based Bossa Nova and Samba band), Monica McIntyre (the incredible cellist and soul lyricist) and Cassandra Xavier (well known poet and founder of The Black Women's Arts Festival - an annual Philly based festival). The featured tracks on this page are tracks from her upcoming album "Micki's Brew" which are a part of the formula that the artist uses to awaken many emotions in the human spirit. Topped off with a potion of funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, and African rhythms, it's all stirred up to form Micki's brew.Other tracks which include vocals by Micki Barocca are: "Move Tha Floor" by Nemiss/ and "Thoughts of Yesturday" by The Indikator.
