I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Depending on who you talk to, I am either boring or interesting, beautiful or hideous, creative or destructive, friendly or shy. The point is, it's all relative and it's all subjective. Why don't you get to know me and form your own opinion, instead of relying on me to tell you?

Rejecting the status quo, one unconsumed product at a time...

My blog contains strong language. If you are offended by strong language, then you should not read my blog.

My Interests

Counter culture, passive anarchy, politics, conspiracy theories, philosophy, psychology, feng-shui, the i ching, tibetan buddhism, the tao te ching, the netherlands, dutch language, reading, writing, poetry, prose, painting, drawing, digital art, graphic design, web design, fine art, music, theatre, dance, and the list goes on...

I'd like to meet:

Whoever. Whatever. But please, please, PLEASE do not leave a comment that is only an image or only says 'Hi, thanks for the add' (or any combination thereof). I put a lot of heart and thought into the comments that I leave on people's pages, and would appreciate if others would extend me the same courtesy.

NOTE: Due to the rather large quantity of spam I've been getting, I will no longer accept friend requests from bands. If you are one of those rare bands/musicians who does NOT spam people's comments and inboxes, feel free to message me, and I will send you a friend request, provided that I actually like your music. If I run across a band/musician that I like, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and send them a friend request; however, anyone who spams me will be deleted from my friends list (except for flowerchile -- see my comments for some good spammy fun). Thank you and have a nice day.

NOTE: For the same reason as mentioned above, I will no longer accept friend requests from book authors or event promoters. I do understand that writers, artists, musicians, and small businesses are trying to get the word out about their products and services, but I don't want them doing so on my MySpace page. *I* don't even advertise my own stuff on my MySpace page!

Music:

I love music, all kinds of music (well, most anyway). My tastes are eclectic, to say the least. I don't like *everything* of course, but I try to be open-minded. I won't refuse to listen just because I tend not to like a certain genre, though I really can't stand polka -- there's just no helping that. Mostly I like indie/garage/art-rock type stuff, as well as gothic, industrial, noise/noize, power-noise, electroclash, house, acid house, techno, trance, drum-n-bass, ambient, down-tempo, experimental, and the odd bit of classical or jazz now and then. I've been on a Prodigy kick lately. It's all good.

Movies:

International films, art films, independent films, documentaries, mockumentaries, period pieces. Surreal + disturbing is always a good thing. I like comedy, as long as it requires a brain to understand.

Television:

Hmmm, I don't really watch much TV, but I do like Dexter's Laboratory, nature programmes, and Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Books:

The Illuminatus! Trilogy, Steal This Book, Catcher in the Rye, 1984, Brave New World, The Phantom Tollbooth, anything by Edward Gorey, Lemony Snicket, or Roald Dahl. Books are good. I like books.

Heroes:

Who needs heroes? Be your own hero!

My Blog

Hope, at last?

Something has been nagging at me lately, something about my life, my character, and it is this: I'm just not as good a person as I used to be. I've always been what I call an optimistic realist (or a ...

Brain Fog: The Aweful Tru . . . Wait. What was I saying?

Over the years, I have become convinced that the Number One reason why chronically ill people commit suicide is Brain Fog. It's not the pain. It's not the fatigue. It's the feeling of losing your mind...

Never trust a bipolar.

Well, my bipolar now-ex has stolen my debit card, drained my account (he took over $1000) and racked up over $500 worth of charges on the cellphone that my parents were nice enough to give him and pa...
