We added a NEW Video that features footage from our short trip to Oberammergau in early December 2007! See us enjoying nature, recording creek sounds and embedding them into ou new song "Ich will zurück" which is a hommage to O-Gau and is featured as a snippet in this Video! Furthermore, the video includes footage from Poldi's Birthday Bash @ Kleines Theater with a terrific rockin' crowd! Maybe you are in it?!

The beginning
In July 2003 Königin Mutter..s own club finally closed its doors. For the final party weekend, Nils Nordmann and Shaun Hermel founded a project called "Situation DX7". Its aim was to reinterpret old and new songs with synthesizers and groove boxes. The audience freaked out and in that way encouraged the two performers in keeping up and producing their own songs. As a consequence the band "Königin Mutter" came to life. Their sound to be described as a good mixture of clubmusic, punk and pop started to become a local hit.
"Are you ready to dance?"
With their pseudonyms Romeo Papst and Julia Kaiser the two self-appointed tender cousins played intense live shows. Their bizarre outfits and make up made the audience dance and had people astonished at the same time. Nils and Shaun found unusual places for their unusual shows such as churches, factory buildings, private parties or shows at street festivals. Their legendary DJ-sets have always been a mad mixture of live show, sample and loop based improvisation and vinyl cuts.
"Sch-Schickeria"
2006 seemed to be the right time for the bands first release and the Hanover-based label 667 Records was the best choice for Königin Mutter. So they picked the song "Schickeria" for the 12" vinyl to start. The record including the song with its dancy beats and fun lyrics about the high society of Munich in the 80s + 3 remixes is out now...

Der Anfang
Als im Juli 2003 der eigene Club Linden Blvd im Rotlichtbezirk Hannovers seine Pforten schließen sollte, entstand für das letzte Veranstaltungswochenende das Projekt Situation DX7. Von Nils Nordmann und Shaun Hermel ins Leben gerufen war das Ziel, Live Remixe bekannter Songs zu präsentieren, die Platten durch zusätzliche Synthie-Klänge und Effekte zu bereichern.
Angetrieben durch positive bis euphorische Publikumsreaktionen wurde die Idee weiterentwickelt, eigene Songs geschrieben und Shaun und Nils formierten sich als KÖNIGIN MUTTER. Der Sound mit einer gesunden Mischung aus moderner Clubmusik, Punk und Pop entwickelt sich schnell zum lokalen Publikumsrenner.
"Bist du zum Tanzen bereit?"
Mit den Pseudonymen Romeo Papst und Julia Kaiser konnten sich die beiden fortan live einen guten Namen machen. Mit bizarren Outfits und geschminkt wurden ekstatische Konzerte gegeben, was von Feiern und Tanzen bis hin zu erstaunten Blicken führte. So wurden auch ungewöhnliche Orte wie Berliner Straßenfeste, Kirchen oder alte Fabrikhallen bespielt, was in das außergewöhnliche Konzept der beiden gut passt. Auch als DJ..s vollziehen die beiden eine Gradwanderung zwischen Genie und Wahnsinn. Da werden Synthieloops live auf Sample-Schnipsel improvisiert und einfach über Clubhits rübergesungen.
"Sche Sche Schickeria"
2006 ist nun der richtige Zeitpunkt für die erste Veröffentlichung. Mit dem hannoverschen Label 667 Records mit angegliedertem Plattenladen wurde eine Plattform gefunden. So entschieden sich die beiden mit der Veröffentlichung einer Vinyl-Maxi im Juni 2006 zu starten und ein Album im September nachzuschieben. So findet sich auf dieser Maxi der Song "Schickeria", einer Persiflage auf den Münchner Schick der 80er, sowie 3 Remixe des Werkes.
