Canta no llores, porque cantando se alegre!

About Me

Well, I'm Sam (but I was christened Sammy - I hated it when I was a nipper but I actually like it now... The only problem is I've called myself Sam for so long I always forget to introduce myself as Sammy!), I'm 23, my birthday is April 25th and I have two main passions in life - MUSIC and LANGUAGES! ///A couple of years ago I completed a degree in Spanish and French with Qualified Teacher Status, taught for a year in beautiful(!) Basildon (which gave me a hell of a lot of experience and some great/horrible stories to tell!) and I'm currently teaching in a school in Ingatestone (which I happened to go to as a youngster). My degree was mostly fun, the main downside being that I had to live in the concrete jungle of Coventry for three years of my life, and the major advantage being that I lived in Tours (France) for four months and Zaragoza (Spain) for five, where I taught English in a bi-lingual private school. ///Let's see, a few random things about me... --- I had a blue mohawk, it rocked (see my pics). --- I believe that if you're good at something you should bloody well tell people, I've been (wrongly in my opinion) called arrogant by certain people, but I don't particularly care what they say - if you can't love (or even like) yourself, who else is gonna? --- I play several instruments (see left), and I'm not lying. --- I speak Spanish, French and German. --- I play guitar and harmonica and sing in DEADBEAT ALIBI... Click on the picture below to check us out! --- I used to play in this band, check out the page and show us some love: PLEASE DO NOT ADD ME OR CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE A PUPIL FROM MY SCHOOL... I WILL NOT ACCEPT THE ADD AND WILL NOT REPLY TO YOUR MESSAGE! NO OFFENCE!

My Interests

I play guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, ukelele, electric organ, piano, melodica, percussion, a bit of trumpet, a bit of trombone, a bit of accordion, a bit of recorder, a bit of tin whistle, a bit of ocarina, a bit of glockenspiel, just started playing double bass. It's an addiction. I love writing and playing music. Have a look at my solo project: Also, I love travelling and speaking foreign languages.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who's cool, but no racists, homophobes or twats.

Music:

Well... the Specials are my favourite band ever. Mostly ska and punk, with a bit of blues, rockabilly, jazz, swing, reggae and metal thrown in for good measure. Bands: Rancid, Big D, Bad Religion, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Link 80, Looking Up, B-52s, MU330, No Fun At All, SOAD, Send More Paramedics, The Skunks, Mad Caddies, NOFX, Madness, Eric Clapton, Supatones, Hippos, RX Bandits, my old band (www.myspace.com/case81). Also, music for which I have my Dad to thank: David Bowie, The Who, Thin Lizzy, Donald Fagen, Steely Dan, Blues Brothers, The Allman Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams. You love it you big slag.

Charlies Angels (Drew Barrymore, enough said), the Goonies, Carlitos Way, Donnie Brasco, True Romance (absolute genius).
