A few favourites are Neuromancer (Gibson), Otherland (Williams), Lord of the Rings (Tolkien), all that Douglas Adams has written, Cosmic Trigger (Wilson), Earthsea (LeGuin), Brave New World (Huxley), Die unendliche Geschichte (Ende), and like the neverending story I could go on and on and on...
Hmmm, there are quite many people I admire for what they do or how they are, but heroes? Not really...
