Good Guys were formed in New Orleans around the year 2004, by Tom Mclaughlin (Guitar) and Jeremy Johnson (voice antics)...
Since the initial forming of the band, Good Guys have inducted a drummer (Kyle Sharamitaro), a bass player (Greg Smith), and a keyboard/trumpet player (Greg Beaman).
Their sound can be described as Lounge-Core, combining the softest elements of jazz and lounge with the clamoring of thick rock and metal.
Good Guys have recorded 2 EPs (the last of which was mixed and mastered by Stewart Cararas for 7th Level Productions. [with production credits such as Pleasure Club, Drums & Tuba, Brian Wilson, and Juvenile])
Good Guys just finished their first full length album, "The Social Engagement" with Mike Napolitano (Blind Melon, Galactic, Twilight Singers) to produce what appears to be the most interesting and dynamic full length release, like, ever. Expect it out right in time for summer [sheen]. (JUNE 14th!)
The new album also features guest musicians,
Mike Dillon (Polyphonic Spree, Ani DiFranco) on Timpani
and
Skerik (Claypool's Frog Brigade, Critter's Buggin') on Saxophone
The goal for the band at this point is to play as much as possible around New Orleans and beyond (look out for an East Coast/midwest/Canada tour later this year!), and further the creative focus on recording and performance. Good Guys are a professional act packed with energy and the knack for a different sounding kind of 'rock and roll'.
They create music that is interesting to listen to as well as watch in live performances. They are gentle and will help you find new muscles you never knew existed if you trust them. And they are thorough. Very thorough.FOR ONLINE PRESS KIT at sonicbids.comVisit our

The songs on The Social Engagement have plenty of thundering percussion and chugging guitar, filtered darkly through a martini glass — their hard-rock clamor meets the lushness of electronic loungecore, making for a deliciously weird hybrid, particularly on the saucy track "In The Dark," which is maybe the meanest, crunchiest cha-cha ever recorded...Gambit Weekly...While the Good Guys are certainly deep within an avant genre, they play it with a twist, blending jazzy lounge music with punk and metal into an incomparable style. ...Metal and lounge are strange bedfellows, but New Orleans' Good Guys make it work. Their songs are full of obscure twists and sudden mood changes, so the jazz-inspired opening of "Work Release" gives way to densely distorted guitars before shifting to a smooth piano breakdown. Countless bands have done that before. The Good Guys trick? They make it power pop...Offbeat Magazine
