About Me

This Boston-born performer began her musical career not in the US but here in Europe and over the last few years Maria Tecce has steadily gained critical and public recognition for both her performing and writing on the music scenes in Ireland and Europe. Originally a folk & blues singer, Maria is now based in Dublin, Ireland and also writes and performs her own one-woman jazz/cabaret shows at festivals around Europe.Music runs in tandem with acting in this Italian-Polish American's career and Maria works in theatre, film, and television.Maria is currently self-produced and managed. She is, however, looking for a booking agent and manager if the opportunity presents itself. Maria is working on material for her new album due to be recorded in 2008 and is always looking for new songs and inspiration. She had her first London gig last May at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho. (Well, her first in London where she wasn't singing before or after a stripper. After a few gigs last year in The Pigalle Club in Piccadilly Circus, is was a welcome change.) 2007 was a banner year for this Italian-American chanteuse and she certainly shows no signs of slowing down. Already in 2008 Maria presents her own radio program on RTE Radio 1 (national radio), has become the compere & artistic representative for Hennessey Cognac in Ireland, and will perform in Berlin, Prague, Belfast, Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Boston, New York, just to name a few.Art Link: http://www.kennedyart.net/can_tecce.htmMaria Live in Prague June 2007 "Sister Sadie"Maria with Pat Collins, Oleg Pomerov, & Drashen Derek May 2007Maria Live - "I Am a Vamp"

Dinner party for nicotine fiends

I have always thought that dinner parties really only need 3 elements: Good company, good food, and good drink. This year’s St. Patrick’s Day, ie. yesterday, proved me wrong. I’m...

The long days night

The days grow longer here in Dublin and with it, ever dwindling sunshine.   My producer Aiden Butler turned me onto a singer called Amy Macdonald yesterday, a little pop-ey, a little k.t.tun...
