Whispers lyrical ability over the past few years has earnt him the respect to become something big. With straight talking lyrics and hard hitting subjects, the underground music scene has made a comfortable place for him.
Around the young age of 11 whisper loved music but by 12 to 13 he became influenced hugely by hip hop and garage and when the release of eminems film 8 mile was released, whispers love grew even stronger and so, in time, he started to write his own lyrics..." Some people express themselves through writing a diary, which is what it was like when i started off writing lyrics, the only difference was that it was written in an entertaining way with rhythm. I got a good feeling when people listened to me and where interested in what i had to say, the same way an author enjoys people reading there books. Each day id get home and write down what had happened and how i felt at that time"... As years went by and whispers lyrical content grew stronger, the rise of underground garage grew strong to. Because of this rise in popularity people felt intimidated by "the white boy from croydon" and so, clashed him. As we remember visious lyrics left opponents feeling weak and whisper blew up the street level and was recognised by many... "They used to say that sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you...but i proved that saying to be incorrect. Writing lyrics for battles is what i did first. There was a time i wrote 12 double, A4 side pages for a single clash, that didnt even happen, but to start with thats how it is, you need to prove yourself because you clash to get recognised and to gain respect. Winning battles gives you the respect to move up a level, it shows what talent you have and how you can use it.
There is no real plan for me, i just take each day as it comes and continue to express myself through music. One thing i will make clear is that im an artist and not an MC or a wannabe gangster, there is a huge difference between the two and the grime scene has been abused by too many fake "artists" claiming to be something they clearly are not. I like to keep things real and keep to an original sound. I dont categorize myself as simply a rapper, an mc, or a singer, im just me"... Im sure we're gonna see some big things from whisper in time to come...
