Anthony Gadd is a new and exciting singer-songwriter !*
Anthony has recently hit the music scene. Gadd, a part of the Jahmessenjah family and featured with artistes like Luciano and Mikey General, experienced his first musical encounter as a youngster singing gospel songs at church in Kingston. Some of his early influences were conscious reggae artistes like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Jimmy Cliff. As a youngster, Gadd often wrote thought-provoking poetry which later on in life developed into song writing.
Gadd also became attuned to jazz and R&B music while listening to singers like Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Jarreau and many others in that genre. The constant urge for growth, earned him the privilege of working alongside international reggae artiste Luciano and he has been touring the world extensively since 1995. Many hours were also spent in studios, where Gadd assisted in the production, writing and arranging of songs for various different artiste’s albums and singles. This opened up the opportunity for Gadd to meet and work with some great musicians, from all different musical styles, from around the world. At this point in his life Gadd, decided to embark on a professional singing career for himself.
The experiences he’s enlisted over the years has most definitely inspired him, and helped shape his unique vocal style and talent for song writing. Most of all, however, he believes the first and most significant source of inspiration is his faith. Anthony Gadd has created his own original sound, a fusion of his vivid musical background.
