About Me

I'm Tracy Chappell, aka thunderjack.
I make music.
I've done a bunch of theatre and I've played guitar and sung on stages all over the place for a whole lot of years.
I'm currently involved in three different musical endeavors.
I play guitar and sing in a progressive/psychedelic (progodelic) band called MIND. We are a four-piece unit comprised of:
Matt Karner: bass, vocals
Kevin Jenkins: drums, percussion
Michael Green: keyboards, vocals
Tracy Chappell: guitar, vocals
MIND's MySpace site is here: http://www.myspace.com/themindprog
I've recently finished recording an album of ambient music with recording artist Zero Ohms. The album is called "Strand" and has been picked up by Hemi-Sync for release in December of 2009.
Zero Ohms & thunderjack can be found here:
http://www.myspace.com/zeroohmsthunderjack
I've contributed guitar to tracks by Memphis artist Mike Dees which were included in two Burning Sky album releases.
The first, "Sensory Lullabies: The Ultimate Tribute To Jellyfish", contained a track by Mike called "Let This Dream Never End" on which I added a little background guitar. You can learn more about this album here:
http://www.myspace.com/jellyfishtributealbum
The second, "Beautiful Escape: The Songs Of The Posies Revisited", contained a song called "Flood Of Sunshine" which I played lead guitar on. It's a smoking track, if I do say so myself! You can learn about this album here:

It's possible I'll be involved in future Burning Sky releases. Thanks and hats off to Alan Heaton, the man behind Burning Sky Records, for making these releases possible.
I also have done some soundtrack work. I wrote, recorded and produced the soundtrack for the independent film "Normal To Oily". The track "Strange Objects", which is in the player on this site, is from that soundtrack.
Some of my recordings were also used in another independent film named "Dysphoria". "Space Age War", also on this site, is one of them.
I'm also active in a local organization called the Memphis Acoustic Music Association. We meet the second and fourth Saturday of each month at The Parkview on Poplar. If you're interested in attending, send me your email address and I'll see to it that you're put on the mailing list.
