Sounds Like: Bremerton Dub Rockers are a unique melding of styles. No one song could be said to be "pure" reggae, or straight up funk. A reggae song might have a little rock flavor, and a funk song might have a little dub. Priding themselves on their improvisation, the newest CD, "Enter the Dub" was recorded in just a few hours; most tracks were recorded on the first take. All solos were improvised, and "Soul Funk" was written a few days before going into the studio. Even while recording, several tracks had arrangements that BDR worked out on the spot. The resulting sound is fresh, raw, and "live" sounding. If you know what you're listening for, then it's a real treat.
