About Me

Click the image below to visit glintofhope.com! New webisodes on the first Wednesday of every month!

1997: It all began with a script, "Hero Envy".
Mike was writing it in his spare time while working third shift at the first "corporate job" he had landed. He was about half way through when he met Keith.
Every Wednesday (comic day to the unknowing) Mike would go to the local mall in Leominster to get his books. Keith was the guy behind the counter. They'd wax intellectual about comics and pop culture, bitch about movies, you know the regular comic geek shit.
John worked for the same comic chain as Keith, but he was stationed in Worcester. Mike walked in one day to pick up some random books. As he checked out, John looked at him all sly like and asked "Do you think that Superman could beat the Hulk?"
Mike looked back at John, a bit confused when he noticed John was holding one of his purchases (Marvel Vs. DC). "Well, why not?" Mike responded.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" John retorted a little heated. "The Hulk is an endless pit of strength. The angrier he gets, the stronger he gets. No way Supes beats him. This rag here is just a popularity contest, the real fans know who would win...THE HULK!"
After a little back and forth, Mike conceded to John just to get out of the store. Little did he know they would meet again.
One day while picking up his books, Mike mentioned to Keith that he was writing his script. Keith responded. "No shit?"
"Yeah, I'm about half way through...I'll print you a copy to see what you think." (Being in a corporate office at 3:30 AM had it's privileges, no one missed the twelve reams of paper used to print the script multiple times)
Keith got excited about the script, helped Mike finish and revise large parts of it, and they got a troupe of actors together to read. John being a friend of Keith's quickly became good friends with Mike and was cast as the second lead.
Small problem: Film cost.
They couldn't get the capital together to buy the film in time to start shooting. The actors started to go on their way for various reasons, and this left Keith, Mike and John to dwell on the failure.
They eventually collaborated on two short films for Keith's film school. Both films were well planned but didn't turn out as the guys wanted. Funny to show your friends and family, not suitable for the general public (you would come after us with pitchforks if you had to pay for it). However the guys learned a lot from the experience.
2005: John had rejoined, and quit his band "Grimlock". It had been two years since Mike had seen him. Keith got them together (along with Kurt a long time friend of Mike) to hit a comic convention. Upon seeing John for the first time in awhile, John eventually remarked "Writers, bah! Lazy fuckers!" to Keith and Mike.
This stuck in Mike's craw, and eventually he brought up to Keith and John that he was going to write again "just to spite John's remark".
The Idea:
Mike invited Keith, John and Kurt over to hang out.
Mike pitched his plan:
Ten minute, live action webisodes based on the characters from "Hero Envy".
With that, Glint of Hope Productions was finally born.
You might say it was all because John can really be a prick when he wants to.
Stay tuned true believer; we're in for a wild ride.
