Flexible from smooth electronica to downbeat and headz stuff in bars and chill-out rooms to harsh and evil broken beatz,
jungle and drumnbass in clubs.
Background:
Starting as a DJ in 1997 Echolot was playing some techno and house stuff at home and some parties without a lot of response,
but he was infected with the drumnbass virus in 1998 at the legendary hard:edged parties @ club wmf / Berlin and during a
visit to London.
In 1999 he got in contact with some guys from Saalfeld / Germany who played drumnbass and jungle stuff, so he tried to play
some broken stuff and was totally fascinated with it. In 2000 he organised his first own party with the support of DJ Booga
from Leipzig and DJ Phono from the Muna Crew. Since this time he has been working together with both of them and so he got
the chance to support DJ Doc Scott at the Conne Island (Leipzig) and to play
at the Muna (Bad Klosterlausnitz).
In the following months he played a lot in clubs and bars in Leipzig and decided to move to Leipzig in 2002 in order to work and
study, and to build up a new crew, so he founded the tape label breakbeatmassaker in late 2002 together with DJ Phono. After
some furious parties at Blinkwinkel, Superkronik and Distillery Club and the Sonnemondsterne Festival 2003-2005
breakbeatmassaker went to sleep in 2005. So well see whats comin up next. Expect the unexpected.
Activities:
Co-Founder of breakbeatmassaker.com label together with DJ Phono from 2002 to 2005, responsible for organisation,
booking, press related stuff and web admin.
Also hes doing professional as a sound engineer (FOH) since 2003 and is doing some studio stuff with some fuckin good
Jazz and Funk musicians at the moment.
