About Me

Spitfire Rhymer (a.k.a Marc Peter Bovenzi) a rapper, singer, and lyric writer was born February 11, 1982. He grew up in Syracuse, NY. His musical background has been instilled in him from all directions of his life. He is self-motivated and a hard worker. His parents helped to shape his respect and knowledge for music. Both dad and mom loved to sing and his mom was a disc jockey as well. Therefore, his influences reach several genres of music and gave him a keen ear for quality material that makes up hit songs. His first steps into music began when he went to 3rd grade chorus and continued doing it every year until high school. During his high school years he switched and did school musicals (Phantom of the Opera, Oklahoma and more). Furthermore, he became part of the church band at Abundant Life and did that for a year and even dabbled in barbershop quartet. After high school, at 19 yrs old, he joined the Air Force (A.D.) so that he could serve his country and pay his way through college too. He finishes his 6 yr enlistment in the month of May 2007. April 2007, he will have his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and plans to get a second degree in Music Production. During his time in service he’s been stationed at Yokota AB, Japan for 3 years and currently Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. While in the Air Force, he hung out with friends at several karaoke places for fun. Over these years he had put music on the back burner; not thinking his fate would lead him to choose a serious music career. His musical taste changed from liking Christian rap and top 40 to hip hop and rap specifically. At Yokota AB he competed in a talent contest and his first rap battle. He became known for sounding almost exactly like Eminem’s voice when he did it at karaoke; but one day after rapping to “The Way I Am”, a person in the crowd told him “It’s cool and all you sound like him; but where is your own style?” and immediately something clicked. Another event that took place propelled him to where he is today. He was sitting down in the karaoke bar, at a table and all of a sudden the seed was planted. He thought of the beginning lyrical ideas for his first song completed “Stop, Drop and Roll”. At first he didn’t think anything of it; but then he felt the need to write it down on a napkin and took it home. It wasn’t till after that he met up with Kaotic, a rapper from Rapid City, South Dakota who heard him rapping at a local bar; which leads to a conversation and eventually working with him on some tracks. He gave him a few beats to play with. It was amazing that the words to “Stop, Drop and Roll” worked with one of those random beats. You could almost say his career was born in a karaoke bar. These events gave him the confidence to write more. He is now putting together his debut CD entitled “The Beginning”. He’s not out to change the game; like so many rappers proclaim but his contributions to music will reflect many different styles and should prove to give a fresh look to hip hop/rap music for the future.
