About Me

Originally from Pennsylvania-right next to the New York state line. However my home is here in Memphis now. I'm a single parent with two very cool sons. I think I'm pretty easy to get along with. Guess I can be a bit sarcastic at times but I mean no harm. I'm attracted to people with a good sense of humor and quick wit. Mean people don't make me happy at all. I usually say exactly what I mean. Sometimes I regret that. I'm not materialistic at all and feel sorry for the people that are. I typically go with my gut feeling and it tends to lead me in the right direction most of the time. I love being outside. Pair the outside with music and good people and you will see me at my happiest. I sometimes like to take my sunglasses with me when I go out at night... I've made some good friends over the past few years here and have learned to really take advantage of everything that Memphis has to offer. Age is a number that's only as large as the importance you place on it. I don't put much importance on it at all.

My Interests

Discovering new music- I'm a huge fan of good lyrics. I really admire these guys who can throw out raw lyrics that a lot of people are thinking but wouldn't always say out loud. Now that makes for a great song! There are so many talented musicians out there and Memphis and the surrounding area is a perfect place to discover them! I enjoy working with Stained Glass, love playing competative softball (specifically pitching), frisbee, yard work, people-watching, the ocean, sunrise, sunset, the smell of dirt in a greenhouse in the middle of winter, cool kites, listening to acoustic guitar and men who are not shallow.

I'd like to meet:

Upbeat, positive people with high energy and good stories! I really enjoy talking with people that can carry on intelligent and witty conversation. I like stimulating conversation without others being too pushy with their ideas. I love genuine people who are fun to be around and don't complain much. I tend to gravitate towards optimistic people every chance I get. I admire people who recognize their mistakes and take corrective action so they don't go down that road again. I'm not very sympathetic to people who won't help themselves.....

Music:

The Wallflowers - Three Marlenas
.. .. .. .. ..Music = Enriched Life! Dave Matthews, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Loft, Jason Shoulders,Breaking Point,Victor Wainwright Blues Band, Mercury Boulevard, Third Eye Blind,Mellow Down Easy, Sublime, Collective Soul, Audioslave, Nine Inch Nails, Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule, Al Green, Billie Holiday, Drew Holcomb, Dave Berg and just about everything in between. I'm not a huge country fan however I can handle a few songs if they move along fairly quickly.

Movies:

I don't care to go see movies unless the weather outside is really crappy. I just can't waste a beautiful day or evening, sitting inside a dark room. If the movie is interesting and the company is even better....then I'll give it a shot.....

Television:

Well, here's a few that will hold my attention for a short period of time: House, Sex In The City, Grey's Anatomy, The Food Network, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and things on that line.

Books:

I go in phases with my book reading. I prefer to be outside if it's my choice and I usually make sure that it is! I'm a collector of unusual gardening books and normally read the Memphis Flyer from cover to cover... Recently I've been reading The Secret and I'm just now getting into the new Glenn Beck Book. Quite entertaining I might add! I prefer motivational-type books.

Heroes:

My Mom and Dad....They've been through alot and continue to be a strong source of inspiration for me on a daily basis.
