About Me

In the same year that Namco release Pac Man, Irene Cara tops the charts with ‘What a feeling’ from the seminal work – ‘Flashdance’ and Björn Borg retires from tennis after winning 5 consecutive Wimbledon championships Gareth Duprey is born. Sweet! A born musician, Mr Duprey has been experimenting with sound since his birth in that iconic year. Abusing firstly his Casio keyboard, jamming with the incredible onboard beats supplied and fusing them with his forward thinking monotonous key loops, he quickly gaged a sense of groove and rhythm. Going on to perform in now ledgendary proto metal group ‘Pre-Med’ appearing with ‘the Face’ and the illusive ‘Master of Evil’ he soon began his rise to the top of the North West’s most industrious towns upper musical eschelons. On leaving school a job in a studio was gained alongside a new interest in Djing and what they call ‘Techno’ and from there DJ Dupes was born! A sort of half man, half wit. All we know is his beatz truly are amazing! (ask anyone. Ask Sam or Tom or Banner). After an incredibly long hibernation listening to Dave Clarkes essential mix 2000. Dupes emmerged with an arsonal of trix and moves not known to anyone, anywhere! A main stay on the party scene, his skills on the dex really are unrivalved. Taking a break from the clubs a second hibernation ensued where the goal was release quality material – and here we are. His tunes are a combination of heaving, swirly chords and frenetic beats aimed staight at the dancefloor. From here the possibilies are endless. With a new job at F1 records firmly under the wing of the ledgendary Chris Cowie and releases pending the futures bright although probably not Orange. Thankyou for looking at our page. For more info, or bookings email @myspace. Thanks again – Dupes ; )
