she is a pure visual artist.not a graphic artist.and her art can not be categorized,stands out all by it self.she creates art for media(magazine/CD cover/performance back drop etc.......)For business inquiry,please contact saki
she straddle between art world and media ,youth culture,trying to bridge the gap with solid work
She works on multi-medium which encompasses painting, drawing, mixed mediums and 3-dimensional work. Her work is realistic, stark and narrative balancing the line between representational and abstract. Image-based paintings, inspired primarily from mass media sources, such as magazines, dominate her work .She recycles and transforms image and explores emotional connection to the image as a self-portrait. She also surveys influence of transformed photo-based figure form.The images become all-inclusive self-portraiture, as the viewer unconsciously begins to see themselves in Kishimoto's work. With her on-going series entitled,"some stories", she explores and evokes our life stories which are floating in between shadow and light, foreboding and auspicious, past and future revealing the chaotic and nostalgic qualities of our existence.She is a recipient of mary hinman carter prize,Ralph Fabri Scholarship,Lucretia Bori scholarship and nicholas markatos scholarship She was born in Tokyo, Japan in1977.Now she lives and works in Brooklyn, NY
