About Me

Night winds blow through my open windows and bring me brisk mornings, warm snuggles with the dog and the cat and hot coffee in bed. Mmmm... I love feeling a hot cup in my cold hands, breathing in freshly-brewed coffee as it twists and wrestles with the smells of our amazing city. Pumpkin pies (and patches!), apple cider, fall festivals with funnel cakes and spicy sausages, earth tones, goose bumps, long sleeves and hoodies. Haunted houses, creepy movies, days suddenly getting shorter. Stiff drinks to warm the way home, walks with friends along any of a hundred old trails, the smells of damp leaves and cold earth and of wood burning and a strange happiness knowing someone's warm and cozy in front of that fire tonight. The leaves will begin to turn soon, then all fall down and their piles will make children of us all. Time for long rides to the hills, away from it all, just to be in the middle of it all somewhere else. The changing season sets the pace, beating time, giving us different scenery and showing us new ways to listen. It's quiet now.
