kermit the frog, reviving a childhood fascination with the teenage mutant ninja turtles, researching things like the ayatollah khomeini on wikipedia, the fact that nick carter is totally fat and no one notices, rachael yamagata, midori ito crashing into the camera pit during the 1991 world figure skating championships, www.dooce.com, www.lifehacker.com, les sans culottes, using hummus instead of mayo, watching old vhs tapes of star trek: the next generation.
it's always nice to hear from like-minded folks, you know, simpatico and all that jazz.
i'm not sure who i'd like to meet, but if you think you'd like to meet me, hell give it a shot. i'm trying to keep an open mind. unless you're usher, because actually i think he's one person i wouldn't like to meet. he seems so full of himself. i'd like to call it a delusion of grandeur, but unfortunately, in his case it's probably a reality of grandeur.
an addendum to the 'open' status of my mind: me trying to keep an open mind is a sizable feat, akin to the part in goonies where sloth is trying to hold up that rock which is about to collapse upon the only viable exit from the cavern housing one-eyed willy's treasure ship.
currently: gotta work - amerie, great northern, bennie k, fountains of wayne, the cardigans, anything that will help me walk faster to the train station
in general: dealership, rachael yamagata, imperial teen, crystal kay, uberpop pseudopunk white girls (skye sweetnam, avril lavigne, ashlee simpson, fefe dobson who i know is black but is in the same category anyway), female fronted indie pop bands that sing in french or german, and even moreso when they are in fact neither french nor german (les sans culottes, stereo total, stereolab)
Clue, Bring it On, Groundhog's Day, Any movie which generally involves white girls dancing and/or pursuing a career in performance (think: center stage, save the last dance, dirty dancing: havana nights, disney's ice princess)

i hate: ayn rand because i've tried to read the bitch a million times, each time convincing myself that i'm being unfair in my harsh criticisms of her philosophies, and each time realizing that her writing makes me vomit a little in my mouth.
i heart: string theory, but haven't read the elegant universe. anyone care to explain it to me? HOT.
chris ware, my dad, dave eggers, ira glass
