Ricardo Cardenas

Ricardo Cardenas has been a veteran of the DJ world going on 10 years strong. At the young age of 10 he began his classical training on the trumpet and the French horn, and by the age of 14 he began his jazz training. Around the same time he picked up his first turntable and immediately fell in love with it. He began as a trance Dj and 2 years later, started spinning Ambient, Illbient and House. After much practice in the year 2000 he became a member of Alien Signal a group of elite DJ’s in Miami spinning House, Ambient, Illbient and Drum n Bass. This elite group was made up of Dj Pharaoh, Dj Meaning aka Orly Aycart, Dj Vyrus aka Marc Alexander, and of course Dj Mystic aka Ricardo Cardenas. Their group threw some of the most memorable parties including The Return of Full Moon in 2001 and 2002. Within that time as a member of Alien Signal Ricardo recorded the 2nd edition of Ambient Realms, which was the follow up to the highly successful Ambient Realms Vol.1.In 2003 Alien Signal went their separate ways. Later that year, Ricardo teamed up with long time friend The Renegade Kemist to form a B2B drum n bass duo rightfully named Mystical Kemistry. They worked together for 2 years and called it quits as the drum n bass scene in Miami changed and was not what it used to be. Before the separation of the group in 2003 Ricardo was invited to play at Candy Land 7 in Miami which became the longest running rave party in the nation next to the famed BOO festival. He then released his 2nd mix album and 1st House mix titled Jamon Y Casa Candy Land Edition which received great reviews from the local rave scene. Since then, Ricardo went on a solo journey that has brought him much success. He has spun at a vast amount of clubs including Space, Metropolis, Nocturnal, I/O Lounge, Pure Night Life, Pawn Shop Lounge and more. Around the year 2005 he made a brief switch to hip-hop were he picked up a residency at the most popular hip-hop club on SOBE called Club Deep. He remained there till 2006 as a DJ and MC.In 2006 the members of Alien Signal reunited as Dj Pharaoh started up a radio station that is now know as VYBERADIO 107.1fm in Miami. It is here where we now control the dance music scene in Miami as the only Dance music station. Unfoutunatly in mid 2007 the station shut down as there experimental licence expired. In early 2007 the label Chemical Inbalance Recordings was born. Ricardo's 3rd mix album titled Artificial was the first release on the new label. It takes you through a break beat journey going from chemical to Nu-skool breaks. With the success of the 3 mix albums who knows what the future will hold for the electronic music community but you can bet Ricardo will be a part of it. GET READY MIAMI
