Myrna and the Gris Gris Band based in Austin, TX blends a brew of blues, rock, soul, and latin beats in English and Spanish, as well as a fusion of both languages. Her accomplishmensts include being featured as one of the best Austin artists you’ve never heard of (but will) in the Austin American Statesman XLent in December 2005.

She was also showcased at the Texas Music Museum and honored as a Tejana artist. This is why The City of Austin declared it Myrna Cabello Day on May 18th, 2006. Myrna has also been showcased on ME-TV with Patricia Vonne, Rosie Flores, and Mary Welch LIVE from Threadgill’s, performed at the Las Comadres national convention, Bayfest, Pecan Street Festival, KLBJ Local Licks Live, KOOP and KBSO radio and live on Channel 36 and Channel 8 News in Austin.
Other performances include Jovita’s, Threadgill’s, Victory Grill, Mother Egan’s, The Iron Cactus, El Rincon, Nuevo Leon for the Cepeda Music Garden Benefit, La Palapa, Giddy Ups, Baby Acapulco’s, Old Ross’ Cafe, The Cesar Chavez March Festival at Café Mundi and as a special guest singing the National Anthem for the Texas Roller Girls.
