Love my wonderful friends, Love good, live blues you can feel down in your soul.Grew up listening to dad playing guitar and singing (he still does), also with Jimmy Reed on the juke box and Ray Charles on the record player. We had more music around the house than TV, and yes, I'm old enough to remember B&W TV's!Love to travel and wanna do more of it. One of my goals is to make the Chicago Blues Festival. Hopefully in 2007. Been going to the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival in Helena, Arkansas formerly known as the King Biscuit, for numerous years now.I publish SW Blues magazine for the love of the music - started the 10th year of it this Dec. 2006! Used to have two partners, but now it's just me with help on stories and reviews from wonderful friends. Many err in thinking that SW Blues mag is a blues society, but it IS Not. It's a tabloid blues/jazz publication that barely survives on a month to month basis, but is loved by many. It's a hard, labor of love that just pays for itself, and I have a day job to pay my personal bills. I'll keep going it going as long as I can. In 10 years we've barely made a dent in all the musicians that deserve to be covered in the SW region. We're blessed with so many gifted musicians down here in the south!Oh, and ... LOVE THE DALLAS COWBOYS - yes even this year of 2006! Romo will improve with time!Most evenings are spent chasing down live shows - try to get a date when you always have to tell them 'ok, but here's where we're going tonite....' LOLI don't have any kids, but I do love children alot. Other peoples kids, like my nieces and nephews. They're all angels of course! They love their 'cool Aunt Joanna' too!
