"The phenomenon known as Saint Chuck started in 1999 in a humble apartment just off the campus of Southern Illinois University. Electronic dance beats thumped the streets of Carbondale as Saint Chuck embarked on his music career. Gradually, gritty dance beats were tinged with slower paced acoustic guitar. As the beats slowed, expeditious rap vocals permeated Saint Chucks music. In 2001, Saint Chuck teamed up with Ian Calhoun to form the Wicked Jonesers. The duo produced a unique frat boy rap style saturated with drunken lyrics and backed by acoustic guitars and hip-hop beats. The pair parted ways in 2002 following college graduation. The same year Saint Chuck produced his first solo album, No Sleep Til Sunday," with beguiling beats that keeps heads nodding and catchy loops that stick with you long after youve recovered from your hangover.
Now for 2005 he has followed up with an album that is based on the root of hip hop. "Beautiful boom Box" is loaded with old school street beats, flowing lyrical acrobatics and international samples creating a danceable blend of fresh ideas and the real feel of hip hop. His sound has evolved once again giving birth to cleaner loops and synths while he still keeps true to his backyard acoustic guitar.
