Generally the heavier the better but it needs integrity too (having said that, I'm not always too fussed about it having integrity and on the odd occasion it doesn't have to be too heavy... ). Mostly industrial / electronic madness
Pretty much all of them - there's always something to learn from any film. The Crow started my interest in shooting film, but as a kid I was obsessed by Back to the Future and Ghostbusters so they still rank pretty high. I've worked in an arts cinema for six years so I've seen enough avant garde films and can use big words if you prefer but I'm just being honest here, not trying to impress with my brain power. I direct films and direct photography on plenty of things - last year I directed photography on over 25 shorts and directed two shorts myself. This year and next, I'm putting more time into directing and writing.
I like most of Chuck Palahniuk's books, but Haunted was a letdown. I'm reading Blood Miridian at the moment which is fairly heavy going. I like Poe but then again a lot of the time he tries to be a comedian and fails, and he's often a pretty arrogant writer. Recommend me a book!
