Rich Niles has been in the music business since the age of 18 when he played drums for an LA based rock band "Jettison" in the early 90's. " If you want it done right, You have to do it yourself"Rich said Unhapply with the recording of his bands first CD, Rich put himself through music school so he could record the second CD himself.
Sadly, a second CD was not in the cards as Jettison parted ways after a successful 6 year run. Rich put down his drum sticks and began to pursue a career in recording, Mixing and producing Music. Working along side legendary recording engineers and Producers such as Val Garay and Ed Greene, Rich has learned "the right way to record/mix a record". Rich learned pretty much everything he knows from Val Garay as he was Vals assistant in the studio for about 3 years. Val took him under his wing and gave him more insight on how a record is recorded and mixed than any school can give anyone. Thats why everyone that works with rich is blown away by the sound he can pull outta the instruments. A feat that can only be taught by a true pro such as Val Garay. Since then Rich has risen in the music industry to become one of LA's Most respected and well known recording/mixing engineers working with artist like... Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Paul Wall, Lil Easy E, Kanye West, Common, Malik Yusef, Lil Zane, Spice1, YoYo, Kurupt, Nocturnal, and Bishop Lamont to name a few... Rich has now joined KattPack Records (Katt Williams Label). Working with Katt is what Rich has been waiting for as an engineer.. "To be part of a camp this cool is a blessing!" Katt's debut album will be released soon.
