Sage and Sound Recording Studio is a beautiful 2 room facility in the heart of Hollywood that has hosted some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Because of it's spacious live room, many large horn and orchestral sessions were recorded at Sage and Sound. The famous Mason Hamlin grand piano, once owned by Jascha Heifetz, has appeared on hundreds of famous jazz albums and is still regarded as one of the best around. Previous owner and esteemed jazz engineer Jim Mooney ran Sage and Sound for years before he retired. The new owners, Steffan and Marc Fantini purchased the studio from Mooney and decided to completely renovate and upgrade the studio. George Ausperger was called in to handle the acoustics in the control room and the entire studio was rewired and upgraded with the best tracking equipment around.In Studio B, an all discrete, large frame API console replaced the old MCI board and a Studer A800MKIII was brought in to replace the old MCI recorder. A second isolation room was added and tie lines were added to the lounge so that music could be recorded from any of 4 locations. Often times the lounge becomes a second Pro Tools suite in addition to the control room system. Next door, Studio A has all the charm and style of an old European hotel. It features a beautifully restored vintage Neve 8048 loaded with (32) 1095’s and (6) x 2254e compressors. The large beautiful live room measures approx 36’ x 30’ with 18’ ceilings and features (2) floating isolation rooms.
