Left of Cool is a jaw dropping, sock-rockin', fun-loving pop/punk band. Band members include Bianca Gonzalez who has been schooled in classical and jazz guitar and enjoys kicking and screaming on stage; Eric "Papa Zulu" Wilson who has studied extensively in classical and jazz bass and enjoys driving little girls wild; Nate Kassalow whose background in marching band drumming makes Left of Cool's sound oh so "cadency"; and Josh Solondz who has a knack for guitar improv and busting a move on stage, on the street, at school, on the playground...everywhere! When these four forces of corruption united in the winter of 2004, Left of Cool was born. They've been takin' the Northeast by storm ever since, playing high energy shows with their catchy tunes that always get people off their asses and bustin' a move on the dance floor.
Although the musical components of their songs are deceptively upbeat with "pop" melodies and rhythms, they should not be mistaken for generic "happy feel-good music". Left of Cool's lyrics say it all in an honest, straight forward manner; that life isn't all sunshine and daisies. There is a tinge of bitterness in the process of growing up and in the battle of finding identity in the midst of conformity. The message sent to audiences is a sense of inclusion: that it is alright to be sad and that everyone feels left out at times. Left of Cool's music recognizes these coming of age dramas and the conquest over them which is reflected their truthful and sometimes humerous lyrics.
