About Me

Hello, & Welcome to my page. Don't forget to click on & listen to a few tunes while you are here. I have 3 albums complete & for sale; "Real Rain" which is contemporary new country, "A Million Miles Away", which is light rock, & "The Wing Maker" which is easy listening & inspirational combined. I have something for everyone. These projects, of which I co-produced, are my proudest three accomplishments. They are masterfully brilliant compilations of originals that anyone with a heart & soul can feel & relate to. In them, my southern New Orleans style roots with a blend of soul, cajun, country, rock, r & b can be heard. It's just plain easy greasy listening. A little about me .... I was born in New Orleans, La. & grew up in Terrytown, a little city on the westbank of the Mississippi River. My Dad was a guitar player & great singer. He was my idol. I dreamed of being that good someday, of carrying a tune with as much heart, soul, & conviction as he did. He played songs like "Color My World" & "Help Me Make It Through The Night" where every note would penetrate my skin as I sang along. My family was a very musical bunch, so we had frequent jams at our house with friends & neighbors where our house was just a -rockin' like in my song, "Out In My Backyard". My blood was of music, so I never doubted for a moment that it would become my life's work. The pursuit of music has been both a mountain of joys and let downs but I could not imagine any other journey. As an adolescent, I was the neighborhood "tom boy" loving sports, & always in a tree somewhere hanging upside down or doing flips on a branch. Being so musically impressionable, when the movie "Grease" came out you'd swear I was Olivia Newton John knowing every song on that soundtrack though I'm sure my parents wished I didnt. I had chills, I was hopelessly devoted, & ran like greased lightening. I was a Pointer Sister belting out "Romeo & Juliet", then Joan Jette with "I love Rock & Roll". My mom was so cool driving all the neighborhood girls around, radio cranked to our favorite songs, singing. She never knew the words & I'd say, "Ma, ya gotta sing the words right". Words came easy to me, so early on grew a poet & songwriter. With my parents divorce came a lot of withdrawl, depression & alone time. I found comfort in writing, painting, & learning to play the guitar while my mom struggled to keep the lights on. They were off a lot! I can remember sometimes studying my lessons to candlelight thinking I was the only kid alive who had it so bad. Though I do not have children yet, the song, "The Wing Maker", depicts the story of my childhood, of being a daughter & only child. I attended Louisiana State University which proved to be one of the most enjoyable times of my youth; a first love, new friends, & a lot of focus on music. I graduated with a degree in Creative Writing with 4 years of understudies in vocal performance (classical / opera), hence all this singer/songwriter stuff. I began gigging around my college town, Baton Rouge, & New Orleans earning my stage legs. With music... I knew I had found something special in myself, something I could give that made others stop to listen, that made them think, that made them feel as alive as I knew I was when I was playing for them. Years later I taught 6th grade Language Arts in Thibodaux, LA, the booneys, the sticks, the sugarcane capital. Calgon take me away! Away it did to Music City U.S.A. Once here, I knew I'd found a place I could call home, but still missing family in my home town, "The Big Easy", gumbo, etoufe', & shrimp poboys. Life in a new city was tough, & the end of my marriage forth in coming. It was one of the hardest times of my life, but from the experience came an outburst of creativity in songs such as "Where Were You", one of my favorite works. With every ounce of hardship came a gallon of wisdom where new doors opened putting me one step closer to that music rainbow in the sky. A life changing moment came when I met my now best friend & record producer, Markus Stadler from Munich,Germany. It was an instant magnetic musical chemistry. He took me under his wing, became my#1 fan; thus we've been writing, recording & producing together ever since. When I feel discouraged he reminds me that musicians are special, the chosen ones. God put him in my pathway to keep my faith alive & that rainbow closer to reach. Aside from music, my second passion is the love of animals where I have been known to be a one woman rescue mission sparing many animals a life of despair on the streets. I dream of one day building a non-profit, no kill animal sanctuary like Best Friends in Utah, & of getting stricter laws passed to prevent crimes against our fur friends, punishing more severely those whose infringe upon their rights. I encourage people to recognize that we are all the work of God, that every life here on this earth is equally as significant as another. Thank you so much for getting to know me a little better. I hope you become a new friend, a new fan, & I hope to touch your life with my music. Please don't be shy about purchasing a copy of any of my 3 cd's, $10 ea. Just send me a message & it shall be done. If you have a heart, it will be touched.
