About Me

Just created: www.danjolley.com !I'm a native Georgian professional writer in my mid-thirties, married with cats. I've been primarily writing comic books (DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, lots of others) for about seventeen years now, and have more recently started writing novels. My first solo novel series, an original Young Adult sci-fi espionage adventure story called ALEX UNLIMITED, hit stores in May of 2007 through a co-pub deal with TokyoPop and HarperCollin.

Plus here's the first ever, to my knowledge, Alex Unlimited fan site: alexunlimited.com

For the last two years or so I've had a job at Icarus Studios in Cary, North Carolina, writing content for the upcoming MMORPG "Fallen Earth."

My Interests

Movies, video games, working out, watching the UFC. Not much time for hobbies, really.

I'd like to meet:

Fellow pro writers, first and foremost. I've not gotten into movies or TV yet, but I'd like to chat with people who have. I'm sort of a knowledge sponge. Well, that's not completely accurate, because some days it seems as if every time I learn something new, I have to forget something old to make room for it. So I guess I'm more like...I don't know. A knowledge footlocker?

Music:

Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Staind, Natasha Bedingfield, John Mayer, Southern Culture on the Skids, Linkin Park, old Queensrÿche, 80's mixes. Jonathon Coulton when I'm feeling extra-geeky.

Movies:

Sling Blade, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Usual Suspects, Highlander, L.A. Confidential, The Crow, Night Watch (the Russian one) lots and lots of others

Television:

Anything UFC-related, The Shield, Heroes, Ghost Hunters, MythBusters, Family Guy

Books:

Ringworld, The Long ARM of Gil Hamilton, The Crow (graphic novel), most Louis L'Amour

Heroes:

Larry Niven, Randy Couture (at the risk of sounding like Joe Rogan)
