I have been playing guitar in various jazz, reggae and blues groups around Dallas for over twenty-five years. For a number of years I've had a regular
Sun. night gig at the Balcony Club in Lakewood. We start around 7:30 and play until
9:45. Arthur Riddles Trio comes up after me, and on most Sundays I stay and play with him as well. I play some gigs with Arthur and his group now and then. During the mid-90's I was also a member of Leroy Shakespeare's Ship of Vibes reggae band along with Arthur, and I was in the original 80's Deep Ellum reggae band Da Nu Man before that. I've played on and off with world beat group Watusi for about 20 years.
This year, 2007, I have been very busy working with a number of artists:
Miss Marcy and her Texas SugarDaddys, my jazz quartet every Sunday at the
Balcony Club, every Tuesday at the Balcony with another jazz quartet,(Show Us Your Tips, our new name)
Been doing some road work with
Jimmy Baldwin (has video on GAC, My Lone Star). We did record a new cd
this past July, to be released Jan. 08. I also play with reggae band Aton. Aton has also finished a new cd, our first. It was mastered at Tuff Gong.
I work with Clay and the Electronic Cowboys and FSS too.
Leroy Shakespeare and Ship of Vibes are playing some shows this year.On my other page, myspace.com/reddreadlockjazz there is
about 45 min. of live stuff recorded at The Balcony Club in 2003.
