About Me

Tanesha Ford actress, writer and poet (New York City) has been performing since she was yay high to a grasshopper. Her training began when she was invited to audition for the Summer Arts Program at Rutgers University during her high school years. She attended the auspicious summer program for two years. Following her graduation from high school, she attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) majoring in theater under the tutelage of Dr. Ronald Davis, Dr. Valencia Matthews, Dr. Keith Tucker and many more. There she was given the opportunity to work on some great original pieces such as “Fear Itself” and adaptations to the classics such as Hamlet - all of which helped develop her both as an actress but also as an adult. Graduating from FAMU, Tanesha moved to Los Angeles California where she studied with Tracey Roberts and Ben Guillory. Developing the organic actress while strengthening the technique actress. Returning to the East Coast, Tanesha than developed the business actress before returning to her training with George Dicenzo who helped pull all these facets together to produce an outstanding actress. During her career in Philadelphia, Tanesha was involved with Barrymore Award Winning Shows/Productions, “A Catered Affair” written by Arje Shaw and “ComedySportz Philadelphia” an improvisational comedy theater company with whom Tanesha is a member. She recently wrote and performed a one-woman show, “All of Me” which peers into her life as an African-American woman as she struggles to accept the fact that she isn’t ever going to be “stereotypical” in anyway, and that’s ok. “All of Me” made its world premiere during the Philly Fringe Festival 2005. It is making it's NYC Debut on May 16, 2008. Check My interests section for more. Drama, Comedy, Farce, Improv; you name it. She can do it.

ATLANTA SUITE

Four actors portray more than a dozen guests and employees of a posh Atlanta hotel in this homage to Neil Simon's Plaza Suite and California Suite. Explore the southern capital and spy on its many characters through the peephole of a hotel room. Catch a high-profile Georgia politician and his lady of the evening...find out why two old crochety snowbirds are ready to go to blows over a man...go behind the scenes with a southern stage mother and her reluctant little Jonbenet. The city of Atlanta becomes a character of its own in this update on the New South.

Movies:

The first half of the program features Mrs. Dunbar composing her Season's Greetings letter, recounting with ladylike poise and elegant sangfroid the shocking events that laid "the heavy hand of sorrow and tribulation" on the Dunbar family. Tanesha Ford is just perfect in the role, with an affected Southern accent ("lookin' bay-ack...") and punctuating her lines with a musical "mmhmmm, mmhmmm." By Toby Zinnman

Season's Greetings and Santaland Diaries are back this year by popular demand.

It just wouldn't be Christmas atFlashpoint Theater without the return of their popular holiday production. Don't miss your chance to hear tell of the Dunbar Family's tumultuos holiday season and join Crumpet on a twisted tour through Santa's maze of misery. Derick Loafmann and Tanesha Ford return for this delightfully dreadful holiday treat!!! Bah Humbag!
